I haven't posted here much, but I wanted to record just how great it is to come back to a game like this and see not only a new patch but a patch that clearly took so much player input to heart SO long after the initial release. I know, of course, that this is one of the reasons why so many of us love Stardock, but it still just amazes me. Thus, Stardock games hold my two highest honors as a gamer: 1. Buy on Sight. 2. Never Uninstall.
O.K., this is just silly. Can I get the patches via direct download some place?Yes, at the update page where the update button within the game links to.
THANK YOU Netriak! And thank you, too, boxox. For some reason I was locked in my mind to using SDC for the updates. Free at last! :)

Is Stardock Central as terrible for you guys as it is for me? I've watched the upgrade progress churn for over 20 minutes now. The latest DA update wouldn't even take. Is it because I'm on Vista (with all new hardware)? I hope I'll get 1.03 working some time today!

I know this is a known issue, but I'm adding my screenshot to the conversation just in case. For me, I always get an infinite loop from 0% complete to 4%, never past "SetRegistryValue.vbs"

I recently posted my Gamespot review, giving SoaSE a "9.0", here: HERE That review was based on an initial learning game, then two goes at a 3-player, FFA, Normal AI game on the Centrifuge map. I have now completed 3 games of the Gateway map, first in a 6-player FFA (both games lost) then just now on a 6-player 2v2v2 (with a win). <span style="te

My understanding, in a single player circumstance, is that the money you put on the market eventually gets bought at the price you set, whether or not this is above or below the market price. And the market always has a "floor" below which its price will not drop. I don't think there is a ceiling, however. That is, I could put crystal on the market and get double the price than if I just pressed the sell button at that moment. What's the catch? You have to wait for your money as you

One of Stardock's stated goals in its lack of anti-piracy measures combined with on-going updates is to assure the paying customer that there is always reason to keep checking in on the game. Although I have been deeply involved in other work, I find myself excited after several months away from gaming to start DA anew. Sure, many other titles have come out since then, but DA keeps drawing me in (kinda like the Mafia). In other words, Stardock, your goal has been achieved with at leas

I really respect this guy. He criticizes/praises fairly, gives some good ideas for tweaks to the game that might make it better, and he has a good sense of just what we have with this X-pack. If you are on the fence about DA, this review will help you make an informed decision on whether to pass, wait, or buy now.

After a frustrating experience trying to download this game, I've been turned away from that avenue completely. I'll head head down to the store and pay extra for the GE just to do things simply and easily. Looking forward to it, but the download process was discouraging. Actually, I just got the GE at Gamestop for $39.99+tax. I also am about to send in for my $10 rebate...so this seems much cheaper th

Stardock for President! Seriously, I was thinking to myself: "C'Mon, there's not much an X-pack could do to reignite my interest in an already great game." Well, I'm wrong. While DA has all the typical eye candy improvements (love them even if I don't need them!), I'm most impressed with the ability to fiddle with AI settings, to have seemingly more difficult research decisions to make, and to have we

I, too, wish I saw more wars of opportunity...though they need to be blind; in other words, such dog piles should apply to the AI civs as well as the human.
