I actually was running some top end games on my old p3 700mhz, with 384mb ram.. and a Radeon 9200 128mb.. including games like City of Heroes/Villains, World of Warcraft.. etc.. I have since been able to upgrade.. but that was only in the last 2 months. Sometimes it's about money and being able to focus it in places.

My turn. Yes, I spend a LOT of time, naming ship classifications. And it's all about the immersion factor for me. And it's going to be so much more now for me with the ability to get in and really design the appearance of my ships. So usually what I do, is give different qualifications to ships. Based upon the ships size etc... So Fighters tend to get descriptive animal names for their class. Like X101 War Hawk. Or X102

Yeah this sounds like maybe someone decided to try to use an old .exe to bypass the waiting period. And he shouldn't expect a whole lot of sympathy or even any help until Tuesday when it's available. Kudo's for finding any way.. but he shouldn't be complaining, when he's not even using the actual parts. I wouldn't be surprised if someone just came in and typed... hahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... but tha's mean. *grin*

If I haven't said it.. I too would love to get a Babylon 5 game play going. Oh hey guys while I was surfing the net yesterday morning, I came across a website that has the staple ships of sci-fi, and has them to scale on a grid style map. Of 2 meters per pixel.. but anyhow I thought I would share it here. http://www.merzo.net/2mpp.htm

This was already up here before. It had the very same review, that was up here before. The guy talking about how he got his rear handed to him on cakewalk. I thought this would be a new preview. But it's the same one as before that you guys had linked up here. (I Know because I've only looked at previews y'all had up here linked from the front page.) Just a bit odd is all.

Yeah but Draginol/Frogboy/Brad. I realize this map is pretty small and it's playing itself out in a 1v1 type deathmatch. What happens when your on a gigantic map, and it's filled with 9 other folks. And they are all set on intelligent. (And how long does a turn in that game take to load through. LOL) My question is, how is it doing in a larger scale environment? Oh and please keep telling us these stories, and keep enhancing that

You sir win the geek award. You are l33t amongst your species of geek. No don't take this wrong. I geeked out the moment your story started, and avidly read every dribble. Dude, I like how you work it all into a story. Including the taking of pictures, to make it more poignant. Thus you earned the geek award of Playing in your Own Universe. Well it is interested to see you get beat on your 17th attempt. Cool story. And as long as

Well I can't say for 100% certainty that Stardock and the folks there will get all $44.95.. but at least I know they aren't paying three other people before them for putting the game out. They just pay more upfront for larger bandwith at their end, and that's an expense that can be moderated and could easily be considered truly just an expense. Like electricity to keep the lights on. And going directly to them, means they don't have anyone

Yeah, I purchased the download preorder tonight as well! (And yes I'm downloading the game right now.) And well.. I figured, if I put the money directly into their pockets, with no middle man getting in their way of collecting the $44.95 and none of it going to some jerk salesperson who has the audacity to give me grief about this or that game. Scrag em. And it also get's us away from evil evil publishing companies who ride the backs of creative works.

Here let me put this forward. I totally recognize the sheer competence level of Brad. And further I respect that. I think folks that like a bit of the nitty gritty feel of battle, are just asking for a little more psuedo control of their babies. And I have to admit, I love space tactical combat. I mean.. HELLOOOOO... directing the combat is often fun, because it makes you feel better in that ... immediate afterglow of success. Do

Well it's nice to know that someone else out there, creates funny named stuff, and I got it right. w00t got it right! Yeah I want to see many more of these video's. It's already put my Mo03 scarred heart at ease. I still have it in my view on a shelf nearby. Where I've kept it since I got it years ago. And I keep it there as a cautionary tale. Sometimes, if folks are being too damn secretive about how a game plays.. it's probably a good si

Well, I've been reading up on this game for a while. And going back and forth through the forum posts, to find whatever kernals or gems of information that will spark my interest. I understand that currently combat is a bit of a rock paper scissors equation. Though, there is something about it that I find curious. Attacking Fleet A, has A1 attack, then A2 Attack, then A3 attack. Then the defending fleet returns attacks, D1 attacks

Regardless of where you get the game, definitely make sure you download the BonusPak though. The guys are really putting in some awesome stuff in there and I've been tweaking the AI further and further as well. I personally don't play campaigns in strategy games. But the Dread Lords are pretty neat.[/quote I tend to play sand box modes because, I'm often more interested in my own sci-fi fantasy setting. My own enemies, and what no

I hear ya Ashbury. I really believe commanders are important to a story. Even on a galactic scale like this. Because what's talked about most often, in historical studies of past wars. The generals, who directed the campaigns. Sure now were also finally starting to get more deep stories from the trooper in the trenches perspective. By the same token, the Patton's, and Rommels, and Jackson and Grant.. and Takeda Shingen vs Oda Nobu

Hola Bud, Well the part about bad bad stuff. and worse things in store. I'm ALWAYS down for some of that. Right up to a certain point. But I'll get there in a moment. Seriously, I'm the guy in the theatre who is cheering on the villains. I cheer when a good guy dies. (Especially if he's not truly a main character.. Cedric Diggery.) I cheer on the villains. For if there weren't truly dark and evil people out there, who are more tha
