For example if the AI's were trading right now at or near about 100% of the techs. I want that scale throttled all the way down to 10%. So that way they start developing their OWN tech lines. So the different races don't all have beam weapons. As some one said. After a while it gets aggravating. I turned my industry into a research focus, put my spending to 100%, and tuned my military to 25%, social 25%, and research at 50%.

All I know is ... to me this is the biggest aggravation in the game right now. And I'm very unsatisfied with the AI trading tech like it does right now. I'm sorry but tech's shouldn't be traded very often.. and the AI trading with itself will always equalize itself out short of wars. So that the races all have the tech. Yet if it was fair.. they would be offering to trade with you as well. Yet you'll notice they don't very often.

Wow, you really don't have a clue do ya bud. Seriously.. if you spent half the time you just did writing that totally incorrect trollish post. You would know there is a big patch coming out today. Further.. these developers actually give a damn. And what's this about unplayable. I call BS. You junkslut! I've been playing since it was released. The game is great. There are currently some minor issues that have to be worked out. But

Thanks for the heads up and the actual tweak list. Now I'm off to the forums to ask why, I'm doing so poorly from a research point of view, in that ... well I'll explain it there.

Seriously. I had a feeling that the collectors edition ship parts would be something special. And well let me tell ya, they really are. See the bonus download pak, contains quite a few and gives us some neat options. But the 14 or so collectors edition parts took the ship designing ideas, and upped it from a 10, to a 25. Amazing. Literally so many options ... and their quality is so far beyond good even in comparison to regular bi

Those extra logo's are just BAD ASS!! Though I don't really like the baseball like one near the end. I do like the star triangle one, in red, white and blue. Very cool. I even like the canadian one. Not too big on the Pepsi styled one though. Overall.. very cool. I would like to see an X-box colored theme one... black and green.. mountain dewish.. very cool.

Hey Brad, yeah I've had problems. A morale bug that isn't easily explained. Or at least the associated math with it, and thus it would need to be clearer. (I have a post on the forums regarding this.) And sure I'm having a hard time getting access to the collectors edition content as a digital preorder and downloader. And sure, I had a couple of crashes yesterday. (Though I don't think I should of but whatever.) But.. the open honesty progra

I'm also hoping for a quick mathematical answer on this one as well. Like your buildings only do X percent.. and thus, even with two your going to experience marginal returns. But I would like one of the dev's to give it the quick look on their end and explain why the buildings in question don't actually do the percentage that they are listed as. Because if I had one that reduces the difficulties by 30% (and that's the first problem it's onl

Well it is certainly possible. Just find the gfx folder, and then look for races. There you will see some files, that are in .png form. As long as you conform the image to 256x256 and save it as a .png, and try to follow the naming conventions it should appear. I found a pic of Admiral Adama from BS:G, and am using that as my custom leaders image. Though I've only seen that image when I select the custom race. LOL.

Alright, while playing a game today, I noticed that for some reason, I was having a hell of a time with my populations morale, and thus my approval rating. (The image is below.) If you look you'll notice when you hover over the approval rating, it shows exactly what the factors are that are contributing to the ... level of approval. Well.. I was a bit surprised to see that I was only getting +27% to my morale modifier, and yet, I have two

I just wanted to update my comments about some folks preferring digital downloads to retail stores. Obviously this all has to be taken with a grain of scientific salt. They have a Poll asking. How would you rather obtain your online games. (Think MMO's, since this is MMORPG.com's site.) In a retail box at a store. 46.2% A digital Download. 53.8% Votes 11,431 (at the time I looked) Original Date of Poll: 11/22/2

Well, there was a poll over on mmorpg.com that asked whether we prefer to buy in a mortar and brick store, or if we could download digitally (like we've done here...) and over 50% of the votes were for digital download. I know myself and my friends prefer digital downloads. And that's what I did with y'all.. I bought direct. Though at what appears to be a higher price than anyone else (Though you don't mention why it's so much more.) <b

What is the difference between the Electronic Download for $44.95 from Stardock that gives access to the BonusPak, and any other order. Which seems to include a Tech Tree fold out, and a Galactic Civlizations 2 Desktop Theme pak. Is the Desktop theme going to be available to preorders of the electronic download (exclusively, as it was the most advanced option available)... I'm just trying to get a understanding of this. <TABLE cel

I agree I like this version a LOT more. It seems very professional. And has a strong sense of spacing and a thematic approach, that is pleasing to the eye. Nice work.

All I can say. They are nuts if they think keeping the "management" that has run a company into the ground is a wise course, but yet they want to sell off the internal studios that ACTUALLY make them money, to other people to make them money. I knew that when Infogrames rebranded themselves as Atari for their publishing arm, back at MOO3, that I would need to watch out for these guys.

Aye, it is a very interesting read. It reminds me a bit of those after action reports on game development. Except Brad's being so openly honest it's kinda refreshing. And unexpected. Most of the time folks try to obfuscate numbers, or what not. It's cool to see this team doing what they are doing.
