Stardock should probably update the page where you bought the game. Do you remember where you clicked ? If you bought it directly through the Steam website, I don't know how you could have missed the words Beta 4 which is prominently displayed on the right side and the words EARLY ACCESS right in the middle. Good luck with your refund.
I'm not sure how many people these days know how to use IRC. And Reddit, that place can be pretty rough.
I do! But yea I haven't installed mIRC in about half a decade or longer. If you want to market GalCiv3 and 4X gaming in general to some younger gamers, Reddit would be the place to do it.

What a lot of strategy games do is have 3 tiers of AI difficulty - Easy, Normal, and Advanced. GalCiv has something like 12 different levels. I would like to see GalCiv 3 try something different. There will only be one level of AI but there will be two different game modes - training and normal (or standard). The normal/standard AI will be playing at the highest level without resorting to cheating. The training mode AI will be exactly the same as normal but the game will give lots of help to

I prefer a hex grid over a square one. What I have a problem with is why does a Star and a planet/ship both take up only one hex? A star is much larger like a hundred thousand times or more. The Star should take up more hexes to be more realistic.

The problem with multiple monitor support in most strategy games is it may give an unfair advantage to someone in multiplayer games. Remember that not everyone has multiple monitors. I know that Brad has stated that Gal Civ 3 will be primarily a single player strategy game but that is something to take into account if he wants to keep multiplayer balanced.

I just wanted to say that what really got me interested in Gal Civ 2 was not the graphics, shipbuilder, or campaign/story. It was the game play journals written by Mr. Wardell and others. I thought the one by Tom Francis for PC Gamer UK was epic. I really enjoyed reading them and I hope there will be more journals of GalCiv 3 from Mr. Wardell and others at Stardock.

You're trying to blame Stardock for having to buy XP so you can update to SP2 since you can't update your stolen illegal version of windows? I wonder if this person's copy of GalCiv 2 is "questionable" as well.

Indy What exactly is the point of this post? If you're unhapapy with the game, then don't play it anymore. Why waste your time on the forums. The majority of the people here love the game and have no problems running it. If you want help getting the game to run properly, why don't you just ask politely instead? Anyways, you should make sure that you download the latest patch and update your video drivers. This game uses alo

I'm sorry you couldn't enjoy the GalCIv2. The game has been one of the best $40 I have ever spent. Have you updated your drivers and the game? Post your debug.err file that is in the GalCiv 2 directory.

I wonder how the No Tech Trade option will affect the balance of the the different races. Seems to me that right now tech trading is a big part of the computer's strategy or at least they all use it a lot. There should definitely be a lot of testing to make sure that disabling that aspect of the computer's strategy won't unbalance the game.
