Awe bummer. I'm too lazy to learn a new way right now. :P Thank you for the links 2of3! Perhaps I'll check it out another time!

Well, when I make skins, I usually just make an image with the window borders, buttons, etc. on it. Then I would load it in the old skinstudio as a template, and 'laso' the areas that I needed to import. I can't find anywhere in the new skin studio that allows for that. I know you can just import the image if you have it already sized and such, but I'd rather just laso what I need out of a template.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I cannot find anything similar to the 'template' tab in the older versions of skinstudio where you can select parts of an image to use in the skin.
I got it figured out. I converted the .avi to flash, and then flash to .scr using a free tool called InstantStorm.
Yeah I found a lot of links also, (thankfully not too many stinks!) but when you actually look into them, they only work for 5 seconds or display a watermark over your screensaver. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with a specific program.
I've been working in some 3D modeling software, and made some rendered animations that would be sweet screensavers. Although I've "googled" it, I can't find any software to convert my .avi into a .scr. Does anyone know of anything like that?
You know, I've had this problem a couple times, and I purchased my version. It always is fixed by a restart though.
lol starkers, you are an interesting fellow. Why not just say "thats cool", or something that contributes to the conversation. What is laughable about adding apps to an ipod touch?
Luckily, iPods can't be bricked. If anything goes wrong, you just hold the top and home buttons for a while and re-start in recovery mode. This will delete all files and re-install the firmware through itunes. It's really looking good. People have managed to include new backgrounds and icons. And of course, apps! And yeah, it was a hack, not a 'mod' because the whole thing works by exploiting a memory dump bug which allows new code to be written directly into the iPod! Cool!
Thanks Daiwa!!
Hey you iPod touch owners! The touch has been hacked to include ALL kinds of apps. Seriously. There's tons. Also, they are replacing the shell icons. I figured you guys may be interested! http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1626
Hello! I have a pretty awesome idea for a WB, but it would probably be ruined if the program icons were present on the taskbar buttons. Is there a way to hide them, or any kind of work around? I'm pretty sure the answer is a resounding "no"... but I thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance.
HAHAHAHA!! I haven't checked back on this post in a while. Totally didn't even think about how that sounded. Next time I'll keep it to myself if I have any questions about 'throbbers'
Starkers- 8 Gigs of music is enough to keep me busy without wanting radio! ALthough maybe I'd change my mind in the "running from police" scenerio. The screen does smudge like crazy, but it's so bright and clear that you dont see them when it's on. I just love the fact that I can pull out my ipod and post a comment on wincustomize! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 align="a
I GOT ONE TODAY!! I had to drive an hour to go pick it up... but it's sweet. Both sides of the apple debate are correct. It DOES miss some features like radio, expandability, etc. But man does it have one smoking interface. Unless you have more than 16 Gigs of storage or really just love the radio, you won't be disappointed!
Yeah, I freaking hate itunes. Especially since I just got all of my music perfectly organized in wmp. I'd be willing to mess with it though if I had the ipod touch. Whoever did the interface for it needs a pat on the back for making it so intuitive! I just wish it had more memory
So while I respected the 'coolness' of the ipod touch, I didn't think much of it because of its lack of storage. But today, I walked into best buy and played with one, and WOW are those things cool!! I mean seriously... I don't know how they do it in such a tiny package. My girlfriend's going to kill me for buying one, but I'm just going to sulk around until I do. Anybody else have one yet?
Thanks for the fast reply! Sorry for bringing up an old issue!
Need help skinnin' the throbber in explorer windows! Thanks!
No... but here's a website for fighting drug addictions.... www.drugrehabcenter.com
ahh, thank you! I didn't know they still had a link to the old one
Everytime I try uploading something here, it will get to 100%, and then tell me that the upload failed. It's been doing this since the uploader has been changed. I do have dial-up, but it isn't taking unreasonably long to upload, it just keeps failing. I have some good skins I'd like to share...
Just go to the skins page at Xion and filt er the authors for "Kev-o". (http://xion.r2.com.au/index.php?page=skins) Those are my skins, which I'll upload some of. I LOOOOVE the xion!
I just recently finished a case mod on my pc. It's nothing crazy or wild, but it sure beats the old case. I also run dual monitors, but I'm a poor college boy so they are big old CRT's. I haven't messed with animation much in WB skins, but it seems like theres a lot of open doors there where you could create objects that spin around and such. Xino, you're correct that its impossible to create a true 3D environment, but if someone really worked on it, i bet you could at least add elements of 3D realism into a skin. Maybe the next windows fx program will include some 3d stuff
