I'm using Impulse to download DeskScapes 3 but all I get is the "Preparing download" message with no actual download. Why ? I renewed my Object Desktop subscription on the 8th of November this year; please don't tell me I now need to pay again...........

The problem has returned and I've narrowed down the cause. There's some kind of conflict with the Second Life Emerald viewer - not the regular viewer which seems ok but the 3rd party Emerald one. The problem starts when Emerald is fired up and WB is running. But after that the problem continues even when emerald is shut down. The only way to stop it is to unload WB, though as I said before it returns as soon as WB is loaded again. Re-installing WB only cures the problem until Emerald

Windowblinds 7 Windows 7 x64 Ultimate AMD Athlon Dual Core Processors Today I noticed that CPU usage was running at about 50% even when I wasn't actually doing anything. It turned out this was Windows Explorer basically using one entire processor to do nothing that was apparent. I let it run for over an hour just in case it ran itself out, but it didn't, it just kept chugging along. Eventually I narrowed the cause down to Windowblinds. That is, if I unlo

Well, I uninstalled IP5 and things are worse now. Many of my icons are now just blank. As an example, of the 6 icons in my Quick Launch bar, only 2 are ok and they're both Windows functions (Show Desktop and Switch Windows). The other 4 (Firefox, Thunderbird, Windows Explorer and Workshelf) are all blank rectangles.
Did you try the other versions?WWW Link
DON'T USE THE VERSIONS CONTAINED IN THIS LINK. I followed the advice given in Zubaz' thread. Each version caused Windows to crash at bootup. I was able to retrieve the situation only by booting in Safe Mode.

I don't think so Night Train. The windowblinds animations configuration refers to a different set of animations. It's a fact that even with Winblinds config set to ignore current skin animations, Glossamer still eats up CPU time.

4 Replies 3,368 Views

It's one of Boxxi's best skins but the animations use a whopping 35% of CPU resource, making it utterly impractical. Is there an easy way to disable animations ?

It's not that. I just remembered, the first download was done via Wincustomize Browser, the 2nd (good) one via IE 6. But I just tried the Win browser again and it worked this time. Sigh....... All's well that ends well.

Well that's damned odd. I just downloaded again and got a perfect file. If it weren't for Sloegin's comment I'd have to conclude it was just one of those things.

27 Replies 10,559 Views

Did you download from the "suites" section ? Check out Sloegin's statement in the ZippoXP comment. He seems to have had exactly the same problem. Strange.....

27 Replies 10,559 Views

IF Pixtudio uploaded a new, corrupted, version then perhaps they've the same version on their own site without realising. Safest to leave it until this is sorted out. The downloaded file on my HD is about 2.4k in size btw.

27 Replies 10,559 Views

Also, why is file size given as "10170155bytes" and not "10Mb" or "10170k" as I'd normally expect ? Essencay, you downloaded Friday. I suspect the file may have been altered since.

27 Replies 10,559 Views

Judging from the ZippoXP Comments, I'm not the only one that's had problems. Essencay, when did you download your file ?

27 Replies 10,559 Views

Beware the Zippo.exe file in the Suites section. Windows XP thinks it's a DOS program. When executed it resulted in an error (it made my printer churn out page after blank page), and worst of all it then refused to be deleted, even after a reboot and even in safe mode. and if you think the fault must lie in my system, well perhaps, but check out the file size. It's given as 10Mb, which it isn't.
