Hey guys, I just started playing Elemental yesterday and all I can say is: WOW [e digicons]:D[/e] I learned about Elemental when Frogboy was still writing the very first chapters of the developer's diary. Watched a few screenshots back then and thought it was too plain-looking: "nice try", that was my initial impression. I didn't hear more about the game till last fall, when the game was released. It was perceived as an epic fail, and Frogboy apologized for t

Seriously guys, this forum is one of the best forums I've seen because the developers, especially Frogboy, do listen to us gamers and are sincere. The problem is that I can't look at a thread without eventually hearing someone swearing or yelling profanities just for the fun of it. Other people might be amused, but it gets old really quick. In addition to hiring Jon Shafer, Stardock should hire the forum moderator from Paradox Interactive, the creator of Europa Universalis
How did you get that many bonuses?
Thanks a lot, Feud, for the advice. But how do I make the image directly appear on the forum? By the way, Is this a bug or not, but why a class 32 planet with a population of half a billion would have an approval rating of around 50%?

Today while starting a new game I have successfuly colonized a Class 32 planet! I mean, Class 32, it's supposed to be rare, right?
Thanks a lot, Nakor! I've been waiting for a developer to confirm this so I won't be playing the game while thinking, "Hmm, have I done something wrong?". I am gonna install the patch right away! Ciao.
I think in some way they are converted into cash, because the manual states that used manufacture point will require 1 BC to spend. But for me, if I am not building any social improvement, I usually just moved them to either my reseach or military, by going into the planetary management window and click the icons above to put more focus on the two areas. Of course, another alternative is that if all your planets are not currently producing, you can just set social productio
So it's OK to install the patch with no problem?
Hey Citizen Jeff Lackey, Thanks a lot for coming here! Sorry for the previous comment about you giving the game a "low" score and the reason being that you're new to this type of games. I admit that I am a bit overhyped with Gal Civ 2; I just believe that if Civ 4 gets a 9.4, Gal Civ 2 should get at least a 9.2. I am glad to hear that in your scale, GC2 is only a point away f
Everyone off to playing GC2? Hehe.
I always download the patch the traditional way and I don't use Stardock Central. But the problem is that all the patch that Stardock has put on this site is cumulative, which contains contents for all the previous patch also. So my problem is: if I already have patch 1.0D, is it safe for me to download and install the new 1.0X patch (which obviously also contains the 1.0D patch)? Will they conflict each other? Please enlighten me a bit! Thanks. <img src="smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIG
The most effective way in my opinion is visiting the other space TBS game forums... then creating a topic which compares that game to this current game. As long as you compare the two games it's a valid topic. Great idea! After I am done with my work today, I'll go to Civ IV's forum and run a comparison thread. <img src="http://
Seriously, although I am glad the Gamespot give it a 9.0, I think it should be at least as high as Civilization IV's 9.4. I can tell that although the Gamespot reviewer has played the game thoroughly, just as Frogboy has suggested, it's definitely the first time the reviewer has played this sort of game, not to even mention GC1. I think that's the primary reason why the game's score did not rise above 9.0.
Ideas, anyone?
I really believe that it would be great for us to come up with some constructive ideas about how to tell our friends about Gal Civ 2, so please post your idea here if you've found it worked for you! Personally, my technique is: "Hey you know, the other day my friend who's a veteran in strategy games was telling me how great GC2 is, so being skeptical, I went to buy it yesterday after class, and the game is ind
I've played many RTS games and sure tactical combat for GC2 would be nice, but only if the AI's skill is as good as its skill of managing turn based battle, and we humans have no way to exploit it; otherwise, leave thing as it is right now.
Gal Civ 2 actually has become the best selling game in major retailer stores. Look like you guys have made a right decision to give the Gal Civ series a try! BTW, I am just posting to keep this thread from disappering
Congratulations, Stardock! If you've read my post, "my friend wants to borrow my game" , in the general forum, you'll know that I've already decided to buy one more copy of the game so I can lend it to my friends, who wants to try the game out. (Of course, I will tell them that they only have 2 weeks of try before I need to lend the game to someone else; that way, they'll just go buy it themselves). <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="

Alright, I'll just tell my friend to wait a bit longer and download the demo. In fact, I am actually thinking of buying another copy of the game that I can use to lend to other people exclusively. I've been thinking about that for a while, since my preordered copy didn't turn out to be a Collector's Edition. After seeing how good the game is, I just want that silver box that everyone's been talking about.
What is EULA?
Just one more question: will installing the game on any other computer renders the game on my current computer unplayable? Thanks!
The other day my friend came over to my room (college dorms) and saw me playing Gal Civ 2, and I was telling him what an awesome game GC2 is and such. Today he came over and wants to borrow the game from me to give it a try. My initial reaction is "Great! Finally someone in my dorm can realize how great the game is! "; my second reaction is "Oh no, how am I suppose to play if I let him borrow the game?! <img src="smiles/SadAngr
