I knew Bush has something to do with this!!!!! Sensitive as Kate Moss sponcer???? LMAO Now that is sensative. This little episode reminds me of a little known flaw in Apple's original iPod where the battery replacment costs as much as the iPod (or it might as well had).

Oh and don't get me wrong... there will still be desktop computers and laptops. Client side vs server side will still be the argument, but online OS doesn't mean all the processing is on the server side. It can just send the info and your computer sorts it out and put is into a GUI form; Does calulations and send it back. Plus, what about all those games, your secret stash of naked girls, and stuff that you just want at home and no where els
You guys should rememebr that the Internet 2.0 will be out in 10+ years and security problems might not be as crazy as the original internet is. Security issues will always be a problem, but keep in ming there is a such thing as the intranet. Why does the company be totally on-line with their OS? They can be a online OS on their own system. Not to sound like a commercial, but every system has its down side. Having your OS on
...and this page too.
Can someone PLEASE change the title of this thread? It murking up the front page.
Funny... Google OS... ONLINE!!!! Did you guys visit Start.com??? Very interesting.
Hear is a thought: Mac went to Intel because a year or 2 from now, they will actually make budget PC's. It a great move, but it has some problems, like alienating your core Apple elite user (Macs, in some ways, are considered the Lexus of the Nissan world of computers). This is what I think: I like the TiVo idea. That would be a great move. The Intel move was so that games can be made for Macs easier... right? No more 'Macs s
If I'm spending time making something, it is a heck of a lot more appealing to be able to have my creation be able to be downloaded by any PC user than to have to go and say "Oh, you need to go and download Konfabulator (or DesktopX or whatever) first in order to use it." A lot of people don't get that Frogboy. I end up explaining a few times over when I am on the Digg.com site what DX gadgets DON'T need for its user
In the future... maybe... I think screenshots of DesktopX themes and stuff should be on the site too. I know the site is about Gadgets, but I think in the future, there could be a sub-category for viewing Desktop themes. The themes selected for the Desktop Gadgets website should have a DesktopX trail self installer so the person trying it will only have one d
New technology for Wincustomize!!! Is it Web 2.0??? AJAX? Rugy on Rails?????
NETSCAPE RULES!!!! ANYway... I have to download it. Now I'll have 4 different browsers on my computer. If your a web developer, a help desk consultant (or a tech consultant period), or just a techboy you HAVE to have all the major browsers that run on your OS. Alternatives to IE is great. You think MS would have came up with IE7 before WindowsVS? Nope. NETSCAPE RULES!
This is good. I am trying to figure out a way I can give my time (cause the money is low) I did donate some cash, but not allot, to the humans, but I never thought about the dogs, cats and other animals. I made a post about it here on WinCusto: http://esm.wincustomize.com/Articles.aspx?SID=6857&AID=87058
Well... yeah actually. I miss it when i don't go. I'll admit that I still don;t like what I do (unload boxes out of a truck) but the possibilities are endless... seriously they are. They have lots of programs for education and moving up in levels. Plus I get allot of repeated muscle movement.
Community Cares You can help by buying a shirt and being a billboard for victims. Just go to the link above. It is sponsored by Cafepress. Here is a quote from their front page: Why We're Here: In the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, our Shopkeeper c
Hello again! Welcome back to the show (podcasts to come in the future - watch the show on There coming Spring 2006). A few things for you today. First up is Digg.com <a href=
My goodness... At any rate, I do somewhat agree with biotech on front page news... but considering the topic, I think it is front page news and should be on a few sites. *waits to see if grand opening of skinning site becomes front page news*
New browser is out: http://digg.com/software/A_New_Web_Browser_is_Coming_to_Town From Digg.
Andrew Kantor writes "What is wrong with Mac users and Apple fans? I mean that -- I've never seen the like. Calling them "blind lemmings" doesn't always seem strong enough." Seems to fit for Firefox too... but I degress... I tire of citing statistics, so I won't... Go check them yourself if it's really a concern for you. Fact is, FireFox has almost 0 of the most critical vulnerabilities unpatch
The Plan: To open up a non-profit that helps artists, entertainers, fans, and developers come together unter one roof. (I really want to help skinners, but I thought, why not other artists too?) The Goal: Become the number one portal for entertainment news, culture and health. (Education is key to all of my projects) The Solution: Use the internet as a platform for interaction between new artists and enter
Its called Listal. Its currently in beta but its pretty cool. I think its missing a few things, but the potential is really high. My site is here: http://esourcemagazin.listal.com/ Hopefully it gets changed to http://esourcemagazine.listal.com/ LOL I use OpenDB (a open source project I saw on SourceForge) but this seems cooler. I was trying my hand at retro fitting OpenDB to do something like what Li
Update: If anybody is interested in this thing... I find it amazine myself... it has been updated again. Strangely most of the sites on there seem to be spam sites from what I see... I thought about putting something up again considering th amount of traffic its getting, but really... 400 dollars (well I want 4 10x10 boxes LOL)? Even 100 seems crazy. I might do it (the 100 dollar) but it scares me to no end cause I only
I think we should, as normal memmbers of the community, figure out how we can support our admins. Any ideas? I have none other than paying them 100 dollars a week. But that sounds like such a... I don't know... dishonerable to the volunterr-ism that goes on around here. Maybe we should make them some skins, or some honor skins? How about free tickets to a game or something? How about every year pitch in and give a few b
wait... did I mention private messaging? There is like NO WAY to contact people here excep on the message board. I call it inter-site messaging. ISM for short. I invented it like Al Gore invented the internet.
got damn..... thats allot of stuff there buddy. LOL Subscription drive would be the only way to pay for all of that. They would have to re-re-biuld the site from the ground up again again. But I like those features and fixes though. The only thing I want is the removal of Smiley Central as advertsigin when your not signed in... I got people coming here to check the place out and get into skinning and they do
