Didn't the patches fix the issues with Armada for you Martok?
No, they did not. But then, my biggest beef is with the combat model; it would probably require significant retooling before I was happy with it. It's too short, too fast-paced, and superior numbers seem to matter far more than superior tactics, which -- at least as I understand it -- was supposed to be part of the appeal with Armada's battles (that

So your real motivations become clear...
Indeed. Given how much of a TA fan Frogboy is, I'm surprised it took even this long for Stardock/Impulse to acquire the rights to sell it. (Then again, they did have to deal with Atari, so
Castle, NCIS, and Scrubs; that's about it. I stopped watching House 2 seasons ago, and I've not gotten back into Chuck yet. I've wanted to check out Caprica, but I've been worried about possible (indirect) spoilers, as I've not yet watched BSG Season 4.5.
Just a heads-up for those of us who are waiting for Distant Worlds to come out: The game's release has, in fact, been pushed back from this week to next week (due to the aforementioned artwork not yet being completed). They don't have an official date set yet, although most of us over on the Matrix forums seem to betting on a Tuesday or Wednesday release (so March 9-10). Congrats on the publishing deal, Brad! Looking forward to the book when it comes out. [e digicons]B)[/e] [e digicons]\o/[/e]
I'll be getting this on the day of release. While I'm admittedly generally not fond of RTS games myself, this one still looks too good to pass up!
I think so...but not immediatly...couldn't find the release date though...do they have one yet?
No date yet. Matrix had said a few days ago that they were shooting for early March, but that's not set in stone. They're currently wait
(Gah. Stupid forum issues....)
My answer to both questions is "no". Is PC gaming changing & evoloving? Yes. Is it dying? Not in the slightest.
and what they mean by larger maps is the ones that are like more than 5x the size of a CivIV huge map taking months to complete.
Actually, the largest map in Elemental is already 5x the size of the largest Civ IV map just in 32-bit. With 64-bit, map sizes could get truly (and wonderfully!) ridiculous....
The reviews are coming in....and they're not very gentle . Even IGN (who are about as lenient as they come) only gives STO a 6.8 rating. Gamespy has been the harshest so far, only rating it 2 out of 5 stars.
Very cool! I already want to try out the Yithril and Resoln based on the artwork alone. [e digicons][/e]
If we're referring specifically to colas, then it's Coke over Pepsi for me. However, as Moutain Dew is far & away the soda I drink the most, PepsiCo wins the day overall.
Well Brad has indicated in several different posts that he wants to do Galactic Civilizations 3 ....eventually. It's going to be a long time before that happens, however. With all the other game projects Stardock has going on right now (with Elemental merely being the most visible), I'm willing to bet we won't see GalCiv3 til at least 2012. Odds are it'll probably be even later (2015,
Frak. I would love to have that so badly, but I can't quite bring myself to stoop to create a Twitter account....
I've been following Supremacy's development for a long time now. As an avid (if not rabid) BOTF fan, the game's completion and release is a consummation devoutly to be wished!
While he seems to be serious, I don't think he's trolling -- he means well enough. It's just that most of us (including myself) disagree with his opinion. The "genetics code" is a feature I'm definitely looking forward to!
After Elemental, this is probably the game I'm most excited about being released this year. I wish it wasn't in real-time (I've always preferred turn-based strategy games), but otherwise Distant Worlds looks like it's going to be a worthy addition to the space 4x genre.
[mod edit: don't quote spam] Goddamn spambot. Bad enough you invaded the Matrix forums yesterday, now you have to come here too? Bah. Begone!
Maybe. But I'd also want an iMac so that I could develop for it. I'd take one as a wedding gift.
Cari , are you trying to tell us something? An announcement you'd care to share with us, perhaps....? [e digicons]>_>[/e]
Very cool! Always good to see more kudos for Stardock and their games.
That's not what he was getting at, and you know it. Don't be an ass.
