No, a lot of the new cards come in two flavours, either the new PCI-E format ( which would require a new mobo), OR they also come in the AGP version which just plugs into the AGP slot on your mobo as normal, altho the new cards generally will require their own 4 pin molex power supply from your PSU.

Yeah it would do, for two reasons, 1: The fault was only in the AGP versions of the card , ( the PCI-E cards have no bridging chip) and 2: It was only in the early versions of the cards, the problem seems to have since been resolved.

Actually the pentium chips run hotter than the AMD chips now, i have an xp3000 chip runnning @ 2.4ghz, but when it gets replaced this year im after a dual core 64bit athlon.

Glad you sorted it out, i know how frustrating it is, i bought 6600GT AGP, card and the bugger kept locking up, after MANY driver changes, PSU upgrade , motherboard upgrade,cpu upgrade, removal and lapping of GPU cooler ( non of this worked ) I eventually just stuck a horizontally mounted 80mm fan underneath it and...Whammo, i havent had a problem since , i think theres an overheating problem with the bridging chip in the early AGP 6 series cards.</fo

My point is, theres a lot of other desktop enhancement programs out there, some you have to pay for such as talisman, some you dont have to pay a bean for, but what they all have in common is that once you have obtained the program you DONT have to pay again in order to download skins and change the look of the program, a lot of people pay for desktop x, windowblinds etc because theres a large FREE skinbase, I just think if you change that, you'll be b

Do it, do it, do it!! limit skin access to non subscribers also limit amount of d/loads, to non subscribers, hell limit or stop whatever you feel like to people that wont pay, i'll just sit back here and watch how fast this site sinks
