the black spaces appear insted of the background image of the side bar although the individual items on the bar(media player, clock, system performance etc) display ok. at the top left of the side bar there is a button to toggle whether or not the sidebar auto hides or is always visible. im running windows xp sevice pack 2

no it only happens with that 1 theme that i know of but its my favorite desktop x theme and i havent found one better than it yet. could it be a problem with the properties of the background image? maybe its not set to tile or streach properly?

Im trying to use an older desktop x theme with the new desktop x 3. the theme in question was the longhorn desktop shipped with the shareware version of desktop x 2. the problem im having is that although it loads ok, the theme has large black spaces in it. also the button to toggle the auto hide option causes the theme to go crazy and get stuck in a loop where it displays the alert box over and over again crashing the system. ive tried everything
