what pray tell did the 'Assault Weapon Ban' Ban, how did it specifically ban those weapons? Where those weapons still available for purchase after the ban was signed and during the entire time it was enforced? Finally, what type of fire system were those weapons: bolt-action, pump action, lever action, semi-automatic, automatic?<

Perhaps there should be some rules in place to prevent lies and misstatements. Perhaps the moderator should be well knowledgeable in all the issues and statistics and correct the person making the statement. Also, political commercials should be ok'd by fact checkers prior to being shown.

To d3adz0mbie, I am very sorry and I did not mean to overgeneralize everyone in the south as being an idiot. However, from my own personal experience, many of the Southern Baptists I've met still refer to African Americans as niggers and are vastly homophobic. When asked why they hate them, they respond "Well that's the way the good Lord intended." I also have many gay friends some of which say they wouldn't even want to marry if they could.

SCORING UPDATE FROM FINAL DEBATE Link New And Recycled Distortions At Final Presidential Debate BUSH 7 KERRY 6 Overall lies and misleading statements BUSH/CHENEY - 30 KERRY/EDWARDS - 19 The biggest lie Bush: Gosh, I just don't think I ever said I'm not worried about Osama bin Laden. This is what the southern idiots look at though. They hate gays just like Bush and if/when they hear that his VP has a gay daughter they start to rethink their vote. It also points out that the Bush/Cheney team are hypocritical in their suppression of gay rights. If your son or daughter were gay wouldn't you like them to marry some day or at least have the right to visit their partner when they're in the hospital?

After the debate, a Gallup poll showed Kerry to be the winner 52% to 39%, not far from expectations. A CBS poll of uncommitted voters after the debate showed that 39% thought Kerry had won and 25% thought Bush had won. An ABC News poll showed Kerry barely won, 42% to 41%. However, the ABC poll had 38% Republicans and 30% Democrats, so breaking even in a group skewed towards the GOP has to be considered a Kerry win.

That could be but, www.electorial-vote.com has Bush ahead by almost 70 points. And the day before had him behind by 70 points. I guess we'll only know on November 3rd when the people or the Supreme Court choose our prez.

Out of the 3 debates it looks as if Kerry took all three. I feel that the 2nd debate was the closest. Kerry however came off as the strongest and most intelligent in all three. I guess we'll see how the polls go and the overall election.

Oh this is too good! He cheats and still loses. Now for debate #2. What will we see? More of the mystery bulge? More pins and paper from both candidates. That one was a huge subject from the Rightists attack on Kerry even though they both had pins and paper,

Another Cheney Whopper: Cheney repeatedly said Edwards had voted "for the war" and "to commit the troops," when in fact the Iraq resolution that both Kerry and Edwards supported left the decision to the president and called for intensified diplomacy. The resolution for which Edwards and Kerry voted said, "The President is authorized to use the Armed Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and appropriate." <b

There was no ass kicking. Nothing that really decided the debate or overall election. Edwards held up well despite losing against this seasoned veteran.

Not too clearly though. To be fair, this was Edwards' first debate. However, Edwards appealed more to the common man and could be well understood. Cheney however did very well in holding his own and dishing out the offense while he was at it.

Now that the debates are over it looks as if both candidates came off very well. Pretty much a tie. Cheney came off as way more intelligent than Bush. Edwards was more clear and charismatic than Kerry. Cheney came off as more knowledgable and intelligent however not as clearly spoken as Edwards in his monotone voice. Otherwise I believe Cheney was the winner. <

You might look at a situation like this: Kerry wins the election. A terrorist attack occurs Bush states that we can't have orderly change of government because the threat of another attack is imminent. Bush declares martial law to continue until such time as the threat abates. The threat NEVER
