Hello. As I've told you several times, I have the 82810E. I originally got the failed to initialize display message. I then followed ALL the original suggestions -- latest edition of directx, try opening in window, AND update intel driver. I now get the game, but the text isn't there. My frustration with you people continues to grow. You said roughly two weeks ago the same thing you said here, about "trying to get that card."

Will try that this evening. Thanks for the response. BTW, as far as listing my system stats, I've done that at least twice on different threads, only to be essentially ignored. It's become redundant.

Just bumping this up to the top... why no response from support? We paid for our games too!

This is a problem that is apparently being ignored, as far as I can judge by Frogboy's comments. They lay the blame on our video cards, but that just doesn't make sense to me. Everything else seems okay. The game doesn't appear to be sluggish -- other than the fact that there's no text -- and the music flows fine. Frogboy, you mentioned on an earlier post that I could purchase a compatible video card for around $40... I then asked you for a model number for the cheapest possible video card that would still run this game. I got no response... Could you please give me a list of some of the cheapest cards that I can pick up?

It's a desktop. HP, can't remember the exact model... not at home right now. Running Windows ME. While trying to fix my problems, I did download the most recent version of directx... I presume it's 9C... but I'll check again this evening. I have an hp pavilion 7940 with pentium 3, Windows ME, an intel 82810E graphics controller with 5.5 megs. I followed all the other steps, and finally got the game to "start" using the directory/dos screen approach. However, there is no text... the graphics themselves seem fine... just no text. I've got to say the problem is probably WAAAY more widespread than you suspect, Frogboy. The thing is there are a lot of people like GhostofNixonsGhost and myself who aren't big computer gamers and simply don't bother trying fix after fix after fix.... only to THEN have to resort to the forums for support.
