I agree with MusiKitty, but I certainly can understand Gideon's points. I just question if I will ever find a candidate that agrees with everything I stand for. At least until cloning is common place, I have to go with the guy that most closely resembles my beliefs. For example, I am pro life, but yet I tend to side with the Democrats on most other social issues as well as foreig

Like all recent politcal coventions, the whole event was staged to a narrow group of voters...namely the undecideds. The majority of the prime time RNC speakers except Chaney and Bush were very centrist Republicans who are often at odds with this so called passionate conservative administration. Arnold had name recognition and is moderate - that is the main reason he was chosen to speak I think. And hey, if he can grab a few minorities or immigrants

I am a centrist...right on the edge of Left Liberal. 60% Personal and 30% Economic I think.......hmmmmmm....probably correct.

#2 gwenmand...I could not agree more.....we got Bush in 2000 even though he lost the popular vote by more than 1/2 million votersand then strutted around like he had a mandate. DEFIANTELY not a win in my book.

Good posts by all! Its nice to see some unity and agreement from both the left and right on one subject! MusiKitty - YOU should run for President! :)

! ShoZan! Are you encouraging a brawl??? ...but a good thought thats for sure!

40 Replies 16,972 Views

Hey ShoZan, Thats no need to get upset and burst out "I hate America". There is hope! After, all, our current president doesn't know english well and probably has received many Fs, but he was elected (sort of) president! JUST KIDDING!!

I thought it would never happen, but I actually agree with Messy Buu and little (minded) whip! WOW, I guess we can agree that we do like (I won't say LOVE or I will be accused of being a tax and spend, gay rights supporting, soft on defense liberal) our country!

Everyone gets fired up about the oil statement - the reality is that any industrialized nation needs the oil to prosper. Japan invaded the far east for oil, and the reality of the matter is folks, that the main reason we care at all about anything in the middle east is the "black gold". Republican or Democrat. This guy we have in there now just had the arrogance and ignorance of how people think over there to just go grab it. Mission NOT Accompli

Jill, I can see LOTS of reasons for taking out Saddam. He was a rotten evil tyrant. They way we did it, when we did it and the so called reasons why we did it is what bothers me. It seems to me that YOU have the issue with those that disagree with your points of view. As long as we post silly pics and comment on how a goofy picture makes one unsuitable for office than everything is OK. But if one writes and argues that the current pre

! Of course the degree of "hate" may be the qualifier on how much aid is giving to the individual about to be deported! hehehehe

I agree Deaniac - especially when you mentioned what if it was your wife, mother, aunt, etc....That makes the WHOLE issue soo much more difficult and complicated. Tough issue no doubt!

I am also Catholic and proud of it. I am pro-life - but that means in ALL ways - not just abortion. I am against capital punishment as well as wars ( which no matter how precision our weapons are they still kill some innocent people) that are not in self defense. To me, that is much less hypocritical than these "so called" religious right to lifers that scream about abortion but go ahead and cheer Bush on for invading Iraq and for executing those

Well said Deaniac! You beat me to a reply to that racist BS! The right wing and GOP once again shows it's true colors!

Hang in there MusiKitty! That girl hopefully will wake up one day. Like Messy Buu said, it is "cool" to be a non conformist for some reason when you are younger. Maybe she is starved for attention - she sure got some with a statement like that! Remind her about how other countries are like - in many of them she would not even be allowed to go to school much less say what she thought! Ask her to name a better country? Maybe we then could take up a

I agree whole heartedly with Messy Buu! I have seen many other countries and while we are not by any means perfect, we are by far the BEST country out there. We have the most freedom (even to allow some fool to say I hate America), the best living standards, the best food, clothing, freedom of religion, etc. etc., etc., etc. For those who "hate" America - please leave and try living in another country. I bet you would come running back with your ey

Hey little whip, sorry I spelled deficit wrong...but look in the mirror if you want to see a semi-literate fool! (Or if not semi-literate a definate fool) BTW you obviously consider judging me as a semi-literate fool, so being a human like you, I reserve the right to consider this president as one. At least I didn't claim the war on terror cannot be won, or that while the terrorists are working day and night to hurt our country, so are we - like our

Well said hitmaneion!!! However, I do agree that we cannot put the blame of 9/11 on the Bush administration; however, there were PLENTY of Republicans in that administration that were quick to blame Clinton's administration immediately after it happened! The reality is, we were caught with our "pants down". Mistakes and oversights were made by several administrations - including Bush's. This unpreparedness seems to be a common thread in our

Hey Jill, The "rocket scientist" had to practice that speech 35 times before he did it. The speech was long, dry, and didn't cover the hot topics like his botched economy and failed "get rich quick" adventure into Iraq. The speech, for a simple and small mined man like Bush, was probably good- after all he didn't say anything like the war on terror cannot be won. But once again, we are talking about the President of the United States - the lar
