Inside the load saved game menu (v. 1.01), selecting a saved game and clicking "Load" just sends me back to the main menu instead of loading the game. This is a repeatable error.

Since patching to 1.01 the time to boot the game up has gotten extremely long. I'm guessing 5-7 minutes after starting the program before I can load a game. In Quickplay view you can see it slowly reeling off a list of things that it's loading. For example: Loading map: 72 seconds. Loading mainscreen: 32 seconds. Loading candidate create screen: 25 seconds. This is far longer than it takes to load up a highly complex game like Papyrus'

I'm well aware that Quick Game is not the same mode as Campaign Mode. I guess BoogieBac gave a less than straightforward answer to the question about setting Campaign Difficulty. I guess what he should have written was, "No, you can't set difficulty in campaign mode, BUT if you want to set your own difficulty you can play in Quick Game mode. [talks to self] Thanks for straightening that out.

Isn't "BoogieBac" a Stardock employee? Cause he answered someone else's question about how to set campaign difficulty with: "Play in "Quick Game" to set all your settings as you see fit!". I'm confused.

I read on here that the way you set the difficulty in Campaign Mode is to go into Quick Play mode, play at a difficulty level, then go back to Campaign Mode and your difficulty will be at whatever you played last in Quick Play mode. I'

I've won with low intial funds, high stamina and high fund raising ability. Actually I can't tell that having a high fund raising ability (I've played at both 10 and 9 in fund raising ability) is that much of an advantage, even starting with low funds. I guess if you turned your fund raising ability all the way down you might have problems.

I strongly agree about the issues. Basically you are able to circle the country preaching "More jobs"... "Down with terrorism" .... "More jobs!" and avoid even touching any partisan issues. Okay, so that's what Bush and Kerry have been doing, along with personal attacks, but that's not the point. You should have to focus more on tailoring a message to a certain collection of states, even if it alienates other states. Right now the blue/re

I've also had a problem with the pop-up newspapers interfering with getting to a "?". When this is the biggest problem is when the AI gives a speech in, say, South Carolina as soon as the turn starts, the newspaper pops up (Bush attacks Kerry's stance on cheeseburgers), and by the time you can dismiss it the AI is already in flight to the ?. It's definitely a problem. You can improve your odds by being prepared. You have to select your candidate at

3) (cont...) My PC is a P4 1.7 Ghz, 512 MB RAM, Windows XP Home, GeForce 2 video card. It has happened on 2 of the 3 games I've played, late in the game when there are lots of ads on the map, etc., and it might be ads/units that are too close to the state borderline or too close to other units/ads that cannot be selected (even by zooming in so you're certain to click on the proper place). 4) The game could *really* use a state-by-state displa

Doonsbury was just terrible. The first Power Politics remains the best political simulation for the PC. Besides being buggy Doonsbury had that horrible childish interface. I remember around the time that came out all the PC manufacturers were promoting similar Windows overlays that were equally idiotic: your computer screen was a bad drawing of a desk and if you clicked on the picture of the te

I'm having a lot of problems with the game. It appears to be *very* buggy. 1) Saved games. What is the deal? There's no option to save the game, and there's no option to load a game. But if I go through the process of starting a new game, then cancel out, when I get back to the main menu there's a "resume auto load" option that wasn't there before. Bizarre. 2) On a related note, I cannot find any way to continue my campaign. I f
