atleast Karl Rove and Mary Beth Cahill aren't shooting it out by the Hudson River. That's a plus, right?

I've got another solution for social security. The problem is that the age people draw out of it hasn't changed since it was started. You can take money out of social security when you're 63 (correct me if I'm wrong). This wan't a big deal when social security was started because the life expectancy was below 63, so a lot of people didn't draw out of it. Now the life expectancy is in the 70's and everyone is drawing out of social security. A way to

It seems a little pessimistic to say that the founding fathers would be ashamed of us today. People act like partisanship, smear campaigns, and fierce, sometimes mean, debate are all a recent thing, but in reality the've been going on forever. The 2000 presidential election was not the first one to be constested, many elections throughout our history have been bought or prone to ballot stuffing. How about Aaron Burr shooting Alexander Hamilton. Pol

It tells you something that the "big tent" party only gets about 10% of the black vote. My guess would be that it's not because Republicans have been bending over backwards to help out African Americans. Now, before my Republican friends start shouting, I'm not saying that the democrat's are perfect on minority rights. Let's just let African Americans decide who's better for African Americans.

O'Reilly complained about liberal bias in the media?? Give me a break. O'Reilly is the biggest source of conservative bias in the media.

This is true. But, asking the leaders of that faith to step up and condemn the actions of the violent factions is a fair and reasonable request. most def

I'm not sure that fuel cells aren't a viable source of energy. An if not, it's certainly worth more research to develop them. But whatever we do, we need to find something other than oil. That also has additional effects, such as that we can stop kissing ass up to Saudi Arabia once we don't need there oil.

The Nevada initiative is sponsored by the Committe to Regulate and Control Marijuana. If they win a lawsuit saying that their initiative was illegally thrown out, then it will be placed on the November 2 ballot.

If this interests anyone, Nevada is trying to pass an initiative to legalize marijuana, along with taxation and regulation, and increased penalties for selling to minors. An interesting statistic the brought up is that in the Netherlands, where pot is legally but tightly regulated only 30% or so of teenagers have tried pot, while in Nevada, where it is currently illegal, over 70% have. Tells you something about America's "war on drugs"

I agree with you Gideon. It is definitely hypocrytical. People shouldn't use such equaninimity in dealing with religions. People should also be allowed to comment on the actions of Islamic radicals. But when you condemn a whole faith as evil, that's going too far.

it's true what cactoblasta says. You can't really argue that violent crime wouldnt go down at all without guns. People would use other weapons but none are as easy and effective as a gun. And although most crimes are not committed with assault weapons, if used they have the potential to kill huge numbers of people. Keeping them (assault weapons) of the street wiil help make sure they aren't used

Thanks for this post Muggaz it really needed to be posted. Islam does not support the kind of atrocities outline in Greywars article, they are the actions of a corrupt dictatorship and it's judicial system. You cannot say that the 1 billion practicioners of Islam are evil because the dictatorships who rule the Islamic world go against Islamic world to commit atrocities. And can you really blame people in Iraq or Iran for not speaking out against thi

Another suggestion is more of the issues should have republicans on one side and democrats on the other. There's way to many issues that both candidates support.

71 Replies 46,749 Views

When playing with candidates in campaign mode you should get more points to improve their characteristics as you beat tough opponents. The way it is, it's almost ipossible to beat the last few guys with a custom character.

The truth is that this one democratic strategist can not represent the whole democratic party. Campaign managers are often too concerned about poll numbers (some people suggest this is why Gore didn't win in 2000). The truth is that this one jerk is not really being very smart to ignore poorer areas of the state. Democrats usually have an advantage in poorc areas because their agendas are very popular there.

The reason that I said try comparing medeival Christendom to the Islamic world was to show that Islam is no more a flawed religion than Christianity is. Outrages like the ones you named also happen in places that aren't Muslim, but are third-world and rule by repressing dictators. It really has less to do with Islam than the conditions of the countries. I think you're right that moving towards secular or atleast more secular governments is good. Ta

This Swift Boat debat definitely detracts from real debate (see my first post on this Link ) The thing that bothers me though is that politicians and 527s wouldn't show these ads if people didn't actually respond to them. So this is an appeal to everyone. If you see a negative add, just ignore. The charges are probably either false or grossly exagerrate

A good post. I don't support the banning of guns at all. I really doubt though that inacting some gun control measures will take us down a slippery slope, because this assumes that once a few gun control measures are in place (many already are) that all the gun-owning citizens and groups and politicians will just fold and allow guns to be banned. This really won't happen because it would take a consittutional ammendmant, which would have no chance o

If you find yourself way behind on an issue, rather than defend yourself, just ignore it. Talking about and issue will increase it's importance to voters. if you're losing 20-80 on an issue, but only 8% of the public considers it important talking about it might mean that you're only behind 40-60 but now 18% of the public considers it important. So this is now a worse situation for you. If you're close behind and think you can pull ahead go for it,

Most Gun Control Activists don't want to ban guns or repeal the second ammendmant. Many of them, such as Michael Moore even own guns themselves. Gun Control simply means putting in measures to ensure that guns are not abused and do not fall in the wrong hands. Some commonsense gun control measures include: Criminal background checks: If you commit a violent crime with a gun you should not be allowed to buy another gun Ban
