I'm sure it could be simplied to just be based on the popular vote and prior success. so If you win Iowa youd get a leg up on the others, and just make it popular vote based like it is now.

See, this is an example of the bug regarding calling the state for the wrong candidate. It is blue, giving it to my dem opponent, and it showed me up! This is the next game it happened with, and California IS A BIG DEAL AT 55 VOTES. This makes me SO mad! I still won tho, 297-241, thank god I didn't pin my hopes on California!
Awesome! Hey my friend made his own candidate (just using whatever was built into the game) and it wouldn't let him pick it online. BTW, when is 1.01 coming out?
I won another MP game and it was a closer one. Thank god it wasn't close for this bug to take away sweet victory. Get this, I won pennsylvania (21 electoral votes) by a margin of 54-45, but on election night it turned BLUE and my opponent got its votes! After I looked at the map after I was informed of eventual victory, I clicked it and it was red again with me up 54-45. Yet my opponent got those v
Yeah, I noticed that bug also that wouldn't me stop advertising. It was terrible for me too because I had some expensive radio ads in a state I no longer wanted to contest so I can concentrate my monthly resources on swing states late in the campaign. Another bug was that I was not able to build new HQ's or create Ads in almost any state. When I clicked build or create it would just close the window and do nothing rather than do what I wanted it to.</
I've played two games online so far and so far I've won as Reagan (going up against Chole) 394-144 and the second time the host was a Republican so I picked FDR (he was Arnold) and I won 422-116. I would've won by even more but the game wouldn't respond to me building HQ's or making ads at about week 25. I'd click create or build and it would do nothing. So after week 25 I just spent my time making speeches and sending out operatives. I was w
How do you save in single player? And what version are you using? I am on 1.0.0 that I got in the box in the mail.
Well I figured out how to make my name be saved permanantley, and that is to go into the configuration files and change the player name setting since the config files are ASCII. In PolMachine\Data go to the file named "Prefs" and Change PlayerName= to whatever you want your name to be. After doing this I am not as annoyed as I was. I hope they figure out how to fix all these issues though. I am now also using Service Pack 2 and so fa
I think you just have to fundraise more. I usually spend about 18 million or more on my campaigns. I have a lot of campaign HeadQuarters and I usually keep a positive monthly income. Your choice of running mate also seems to affect your money. After picking Forbes I usually get a few million bonus. Maybe if you pick a runningmate with no fundraising or money ratings you aren't getting as much of a boost. It could also be that the candidate you
I like the game the way it is, being a fun game to play. As a major political junkie and campaign staffer for a congressional campaign, this game provides much needed relief and comedy into an otherwise boring world of political data processing and cleaning up left over pizza boxes after rallies. This game isn't something I would use if I was Karl Rove to see how my campaign strategies would work, thus its not an election simulator.
After playing for two days I have already found a number of problems with the game. Number one, after playing Carter in campaign mode it seems that no matter who my next opponents were, the newspapers always showed Carter's name And "Carter's Campaign" whenever referencing my current opponent. Number two, it gets on my nerves to have to type my name in over and over again. Either the gam
Oh C'mon anyone have a response for this? Also, one more thing I noticed is that after I turned the game off and back on I think the difficulty mustve self adjusted it to be higher cause now I get my clock cleaned in pretty every state but my home state by week 15. Also my opponent starts out with a political operative. What's the deal?
I wanna play some fantasy scenarios with Reagan and others, but they don't seem to be unlocked yet. Is there any way to unlock without having to play 18 campaigns? I think I will be sick of the game if I have to play 18 regular campaigns without the added spice of the fantasy scenario things. Also, is there any way to save your settings to a floppy or something? I am going to reinstall Windows XP with SP2 as a fresh install for best
Is there any way to unlock all the candidates at once? I don't wanna go through like 20 campaigns before I win. This game is getting old fast...
If anything it should be kept simple. Incumbents should get automatic name recognition in every state, at like 95% or so. Just about everyone knows the President, so that would be the only advantage an incumbent should have without upsetting the balance of the game too much.
I think we're getting too much into micro managment type of details. It's just a fun game, not an election simulator.
So you're one of "those" customers who likes to call everyday... As someone who works in retail I must tell you how annoying us employees think that is, and how rude it is. I especially hate it when people complain over the phone about slow service, it's like, hey, we're taking care of customers who cared enough to actually come down to the store so phone people come second. Well I am done with my rant. I rea
Best way to make debates work would be to level their intelligence. The higher intelligence candidate will usually win, depending on the issues of course, but not accepting a challange to a debate makes you more of a coward or something (accepting one raises your visibility). I am sure a way to make a trade off could be found.
D'oh. Well I hope it arrives soon then.
I am having the same problem, it is denying my serial number.
