I think I may have found it. The CPU seems to have the entire candidate list to chose from for a VP. Carter seems to choose LBJ as a VP everytime, and although I have no idea what his stats are, the boost in texas and the in general political greatness and genius of Johnson would lead me to believe this contributes highly to the difficulty of beating carter.
yeah, me too. I had a 10% lead in NY, Cali, Tex, Flor, Penn, Ohio, and michigan. 2nd tier HQs in each, and running adds and speaking like crazy, and I had 3 endorsements. And carter comes back and wins all of em and I am from Texas!
Game is fun. But campaign is really hard. I finally managed to beat Clark and then got waxed 440 to 80 by one Jimmy Carter. Ouch. Probably just need to practice more. Main thing is I have seen little benefit from endorsements, though playing certain TV ads can be huge. And I love the interviews. The point of the statement was that raising taxes on the rich would accomplish little under the current tax laws, due to the fact that the rich are able to avoid paying a large percentage of their taxes.
