I would have gone with something more like "billionaire and extreme leftist George Soros" perhaps. Wouldn't an extreme leftists be someone who felt a far-left/socialist party should run the government at the exclusion of other views, not a successful capitalist with a personal committment to classical l
Bush has very little intellect, so I'd be hard pressed to see him as a key decision maker in the administration, unless of course the decisions are arrived at without thinking. I think its safe to say that Bush's economic policy is arrived upon in conjunction with the needs of his constituents, his public message and religious slant influenced by his political team based on appealing to voters, while his foreign policy is handed down to him from the ne
Little Whip, does your name refer to an ice cream treat, an S&M toy, or both?
2. Overthrowing Saddam. The occupation definitely should have gone better, but the initial invasion was very successful. That's got to be right up there with Hiroshima and Nagasaki in terms of the greatest diplomatic achievements in American history.
That is the lamest form of discussion. Of course he has he is the Commander in Chief you moron. You are the lamest form of discussion. This war was executed with the utmost incompetence and ignorance of middle east politics and long term goals. Even if military action in Iraq was justified (and it was
George Bush has caused more Americans to die in Iraq than Ted Kennedy.
I think men need to touch each other more.
I was shocked to learn that Hilary Clinton and Ted Kennedy are as sensible and conservative as I.
At least I was civilized enough not to wish anyone dead. 1. You are no more civilized than I. 2. I did not wish Bush dead. 3. It went right over your head... not suprising.
I've noticed Brad's reprehensible tactics in his F9/11 posts. At one point he suggested that those who thought the film raised valid points should be prohibited from posting on his blog. That pretty much discourages anyone from even trying to discuss the film with him. It would be like me posting on 'The Passion' and excluding people whose viewpoints are 'flawed' because they believe in God.
OK let me get this straight. Some of you think that Edwards is a good choice of VP? Qualifications: No military experience Never governed anything Been a Senator 6 whole years hmmm what qualifications does he have to be VP or in case the President dies, President?? NONE. Also someone in the comments brou
Are you people more offended by the insinuation that Israel is a puppeteer or that Bush is a puppet? Furthermore, had Mr. Nader been discussing the NRA or the Christian Right, would you be spewing limbaughsticly about Nader's anti-Christian or anti-gun owner positions? Do you believe that Israel has a special exemption from rhetorically scathing remarks about its influence simply because anti-semitism has manifested itself as a fear of Jewish power? Th
The pro-Israel lobby is a real and powerful special interest in Washington. Nader is being consistent in his populist, isolationist, and anti-special interest viewpoint. The same thing could be said of the gun lobby, the energy lobby, the health lobby, even the hotel lobby. I would hope that Nader, the ultimate foe of 'political correctness' as a means of supressing dissent from public discourse, would be brave enough to say it like it is without the f
hmmm... Lighten up Baker. I heard the exact same joke told about Bill Clinton many years ago. Politicians really aren't worth defending tooth and nail like extended family. And they die, and disintigrate, and become worm shit, just like the rest of us.
I don't have much reason to believe Bush himself is a very compassionate individual. Looking at his past, I see someone whose commitment to public service and the concerns of working families is rather minimal. However, on the most superficial level, the measure of government spending on so called 'social programs', Bush has hardly been incompassionate, living up to his campaign promise to continue the moderate social spending policies of Clinton, whil
One choice I will have to make in the coming years is whether the benefits of having two hard working, moderate, and relatively honest female republican senators outweighs the potential benefits of returning the senate to the democrats. As liberal as Olympia Snowe is, I would consider voting for a more conservative blue-dog type democrat if it meant bolstering the already stiff senate competition against the house of DeLay. I would especially like some
