Good question, sunwukong, it seems the debates really do favor solely focusing on the candidates themselves. Perhaps the candidates feel this way as well and play along. Bush has an experienced and skilled cabinet, it makes me wonder how they could act almost impulsively in the face of their combined years of experience. Exit strategy? We'll figure that out later...maybe they aren't aiming for an exit. W

I'd be interested in knowing how ACORN might have discerned the difference between a rep. voter registration card and a dem. one. I don't know if voter registration cards are standard throughout all the states, but the one here in MO doesn't include any type of box to be filled out that would show one's voting preference.

C’mon! You remember, Deference, cowering. W also picked you back up. C’mon! Admit it. Poppa Bush is who we all turned to. Your boy Kerry did as well-- looked to Poppa Bush for protection that longest day. Now I remember that day, and I appreciate you reaching out, but I didn't look to politicians to cure my angst. I don't believe this administration handled that day, the days before (in hindsight), or this day as well as they could hav

We are drinking.....to your health. "Um, yeah, ma'am, these two gentleman would like a pitcher of your finest, and I'll go with a forty of Old English. Yeah, that'll be credit card, thanks."

Unless, of course, Kerry flips and flops. I got in some fishing by the way. The fish on the deck of a boat reminded of Kerry. Clever, I like that. Yes, in some opinion polls, Bush is winning MO. . I can only go on your word and Lee's when referring to the military on your area, I know how things are here at Whiteman (you know, home of the B-2) and the reasons given for voting Kerry seem to jive. I'd like to hear why some of these s

Here comes a REAL shocker!!!! I AGREE with *deference*. It takes "2", NOT one or the other! The original abortion law was good in its intentions but it got WAAAAAAAAYYY perverted. Holy shit! Okay, now lets go get a beer...

Hitparade, I have met many soldiers coming home from Iraq to Whiteman Base here in MO. The soldiers and veterans have been coming in by the buttload to attain signs and volunteer to help the Democratic hq here in Warrensburg. These are the guys that are pissed about stop-loss and not happy about the time they have spent or are having to spend in Iraq. I have met two marines while knocking door to door doing voter registration that do not support Ker

Discard away. You're just reciting the anthem of someone who doesn't want to hear someone challenge his opinion. But that's okay. Adoption Adoption Adoption, huh? Well..how many have you adopted? Not getting pregnant in the first place? Besides altering the basic human desire to have sex, how do you prevent it? Birth control is not 100% effective. Abstinance is way

Were Kerry a responsible presidential candidate, he would not have opportunistically taken advantage of the handicap that all incumbent President’s face at a debate You're saying he can't attack the Bush admin. record? We can't talk about how screwed up things are? That is very telling on your behalf but I am sure you are just following the Bush administration's lead. What do you believe we should talk about at the Presidential debat

Hitparade, I suggest you do what you can to yank this post or let it sink slowly to the bottom of JU forums, you will be mighty embarressed next week. Just to show you I put my money where my mouth is, I challenge you to bump this forum up next Friday or do a repost and compare / contrast with the future circumstances. My post will be here, and I'm claiming no Bush bounce and Kerry ahead. And yeah, Kerry has no moral compass, he's done all

Just *maybe* you should go read this link. Seems not everyone is as optimistic as you seem to be Yeah, I checked that out. There are a lot of Republicans cheerleading for the president, such as Senator Weld who claimed Bush "won" the debate. I'm so sorry, if Kerry had presented himself as poorly as Bush I'd be raising hell. You should think about that, and pray he does better next time, it reflects badly on Bush when he does such a p

Those were some of the near hitches I saw last night, but I don't believe any are going to prove to be a hurdle for Kerry. Let's watch the polls this week and the final election. I predict the Bush "bounce" gone, and the incumbent not reaching the critical 50% mark in any major poll. The appearance last night from Bush was enough to stop any momentum Bush may have had. I think he's sunk.

You don't think that the media isn't going to catch the flip-flop and start hammering on it? The best part about that specific bit was that it would, at best, provide a weak attack for the Bush campaign. During the debates, I noticed something, the old "flip flop" and declaring one a "denigrater of coalition allies" attacks aren't going to work anymore, 'cause Kerry is actually there defending himself strongly while making Bush flounde

This country is being run in to the ground. I voted Bush last election drmiler, don't you think we at least deserve a change ? P.S. : Next time, get original put-down, it helps strengthen the sorely lacking "sting".
