Why is this even news? Of course MS is going to release it as an update...it is a more secure browser. Seems like common sense to me. It is not like users are going to be forced to use it over other browsers anyway as Windows has not had an update that makes it where only IE will work, and nor is that likely to ever happen.

Nice feature. I suppose we can direct it to the directory of our choosing where we have our wallpaper stored....not just the standard 'My Pictures' folder? I have my pictures stored on my second hard drive. Also, are you guys going to enable skin color control like you did on 4.6? Somes skins I've used in the past I liked to change the gamma, saturation and such. That would be nice if you could re-implement that feature.

I am glad to see that the minimize to tray option is now functional for alpha blended skins. Every program works just fine...except FireFox. IE7 Beta 2 and Opera 9 Beta minimize to the tray just fine, but FireFox won't. The icon will go the tray like it is supposed to, but the browser remains maximized. This only happens with alpha blended skins. I am not sure if it is a WB5 issue, or a FireFox issue, but I wanted to let you guys know either way.<

I am not sure if it is skin related, WB5 related, or both, but when I exit from gaming, I have noticed that my taskbar either looses transparency or has the residual image of the game transpoosed in it rather than reverting the 'see through' style it is normally. I am using Kol's Vista XP V3, and like I say, I don't know if it is simply a skin issue or a program issue, but I wanted to make you guys aware it was happening if you didn't alread

Ah, thank you. That makes sense because I noticed a couple of the older skins worked fine with that. Hopefully and update sometime in the future can fix that - if it is possible. It's no big deal of course, but it is a neat feature I like to use <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=

DesignCaddy i really hope this is a minority opinion.. otherwise there are a lot of really ignorant people out there. ODNET people get all version upgrades including alphas and betas as part of their subscription. There is nothing new here with wb5. Second, its still in development. Can you imagine the tech support load if e

I have a hunch if you guys decide to just release WB5, rather than using it as bait for Object Desktop, you will see a considerable increase in subscriptions. I understand it is in beta, but if it is good enough for OD users, it is good enough for the rest of us. Just my two cents
