It really is hard to find a good balance. I saw someone on Amazon.com claiming that The Political Machine has a Republican bent even though in our internal AI vs AI Kerry wins 4 out of 7 games. In The Political Machine, it all depends on the initial game settings.

We have found that some of the data (saved data) from 1.0 isn't compatible with 1.01. You may want to uninstall it, reinstall ita nd then immediately apply 1.01 and then start your campaign.

BTW, as a suggestion, you can get a decent video card for $40 that would take care of all these issues. Are you running on a desktop or laptop?
