Cannot create Metaverse character?

Sorry for my question, I just don't know where else I can ask. When I try to create a character, I get these 2 errors... Is the Metaverse is working rigth now?

The serial number you have entered is not valid, or has not been activated. Please try again or contact support.
The file you have chosen to upload as the Empire Logo is not an image of format PNG or JPG. Please choose another.

For the invalid serial, I use the one I received from TotalGaming.net. It seem to be the same serial for all my TGN games if I am not wrong, because I never received a specific code for GC2.
For the upload logo, I dont understand, there is no place where I can upload a logo.

My problem is after it asks me if I want to create a character, I click yes and then it just goes back to the main menu and nothing happens.

Yep I'll throw my hat into the corrupt memory arena as well. And I wanted to work on some of those cool medals today too Ah well. Hopefully they'll get this fixed quickly next week.

I am getting the same error as well. 32bit based cpu, tried using firefox and IE etc.

Maybe due to the new version of galciv2?

well i have school during the week so the best time for me to enjoy the game is during the week and its not that hard to check the forums once a day even if your not at work and give a reply.

I cant create a chartacter. it just hangs forever at processing data. What's your coders problem and poor response to people who have given support and their hard earned pay to your company? You take your sweet time answering people who have invested in your comapny. your suipport team really stinks!

Actually Stardock support rocks, compared to any other company I've had dealings with recently.

To get a character created sometimes requires IE instead of Firefox. For me, using IE solved the problem. I freely admit my computer is a bit flakier than most, with several different security holes closed through brute force, but I like it that way

Using IE instead of Firefox fixed the problem for me also. I only use IE when I absolutely have to, and never comfortably, but creating a Metaverse character sort of -was- an emergency, no?

Please be aware that ONLY the LATEST STABLE version of firefox is supported on the metaverse. Currently the latest stable build available to the public is 1.5.0.1. Please update firefox or use IE for the metaverse.

when i try to create a character, i get a window in IE and nothing is loading, no page or anything, the page is completely blank cept for the basic window template

Klord - You could take a screenshot and email it to me (andrew at stardock.com), and I could try to reproduce it. But we've not been able to force any page in the metaverse to give us those results.

The login to metaverse do not work for me even with IE and cookies accepted.

Can create whether a character nor an empire whether in firefox 1.0.6 nor in IE. Deleted all Cookies and cached data in IE. ???

I cant create a character, it says "Processing Data" on the create character page and it stays that way for a half hour and it doesnt change.

I encounter that Processing-Data-forever-Problem. I think you posted to use IE or latest Firefox. If that does not help clear Cookies and cached Data in IE. I tried all this, it doesn't help.
Question: I bought the game via "Download + Retail CD". I got an E-mail quickly with one serial number.But I couldn't download the game for more than a week (ticket ID: XCB-939464). Finally the problem was solved (a account merger has to be done tough I had the same emailadress in all accounts, strange). I got a Email with my account info with another serial number. Now downloading the game was possible (I did it with the first serial number).
When creating a player/empire I was asked for a serial number. Which one is correct? Both? I tried it with both in IE with cache and cookies cleared. Didn't work!
Have you got all the details you need? Hope you can help me.

Got that Processing-Data-Forever thing
Tried it with IE, don't know if it is the actual version, but sounds not so bad (6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519). No chance.
Tried Firefox 1.0.6 and 1.0.7.
No chance.
Upgraded to Firefox 1.5.0.1.
WORKS!
So get latest FIREFOX and you are fine.
