Any ETA on a Version Compatible with WindowsBlind 5 beta

Not pushing... Just wondering.

I didn't realize for several weeks that they weren't compatible - I thought the WB5 beta was just killing me. Then I found the developer notes saying they couldn't run together. (Wasn't there when I first ran the WB5 beta).

So I temporarily unloaded WindowsFX and am working with the WB5 beta.

But I sure do miss WindowsFX!!! Hope it's ready fairly soon!

No it is not.  The new WindowBlinds beta is out now, but the WindowFX one is still under development.

I'm not seeing it. Last update was in June 3, 2005. It's still showing 2.20c(b).003 even after a refresh.

I'm still not seeing a new WinFX beta on SDC.

I have "pre-release" checked as always, and the last beta showing in SDC was on 06/03/2005.

Do I need to switch servers again? (There were issues with OD+ not showing except on the Cal. server several months ago).

Nope. Not on Chicago server either.

Where would I find it?

Thanks!

Gotcha.

I took Lantec's "Took too long..." as meaning that he finally did see it on the server, instead of after Mike's post.

Understood now though.

Thanks!

I'm using the 6/03 version of FX with WB5 and it's running great. When I started with this version I was "glad all over" it cleared all the problems up that I was having with the earlier versions and uses almost no resources. Unlike the previous version that put my AMD 3400+ /2gigs Corsair/ and 6800 GT to a test, worked but a resource hog and really glitchie.

Good to hear, might just give it a try. Thanks

(Sorry about the double post, folks. First time it didn't appear to do anything at all (using Stardock Central), second time it froze and crashed )

Not here- I'm running the WB5 release (Build 49), and the June release of WindowFX. WB is running KoL's VistaXP Skin v3.0 in Glass Beta 2 style. When windows open, the titlebars and windowframes are not skinned. They become skinned after dragging the window.

I have the basic swaying window animation active for smaller windows.
When I grab the titlebar and drag it around, the windowframe doesn't
sway along with thhe window content region. The effect is kind of cool,
using the Glass skin, it makes it look like the content (calculator in
this case) is a sheet of paper clipped to a plexiglass clipboard, and
the plexiglass is stiff enough to not sway, but the paper under the clip
catches the wind and does as it should.

Given that observation, the "fix" should possibly include (if possible)
the option to have the swing/twisy/sway *not* apply to the windowframe,
as well as to have the windowframe swing/twist/sway as it formerly did
(I went from WB 3.51 to WB 4.99 (WB5 RCx).

So: Any ETA on the WindowFX update that was projected for 29 Nov?

Regards,
-doug q

yeah, it's not working here either. only after dragging windows it fixes the issues. non-workable at the moment. when can we expect a fix so it will work with wb5? I miss my windowfx

What I noticed here is that it only does this when you have windows set to "fade in" - change the animation to anything else (I use reverse dissolve) and it seems ok. Overall it's still pretty buggy, and my system is a little thrashed from other betas, so I'm not going to use it for the time being, but I really hope that the new version comes soon.. WindowFX was one of the primary reasons I bought the full ObjectDesktop.. not being able to use it kind of makes me feel like I'm wasting a good part of the subscription (although I do still enjoy some of the other components.. it's just frustrating not being able to use the features I wanted in the first place)

Just found another conflict:

When working in Outlook 2003 with Agendus for Outlook as a COM add-in, dialog windows to create new tasks, meetings, etc. are missing some elements. Eg - the task window does not show the Contact link box/drop-down, and some other elements. Unloading WindowsFX returns Outlook and Agendus to normal functionalty.
