Can a White person say anything about any Minority?

Can a White person say anything about any Minority?

Playing the Race card.

Just a observation, Lets imagine a million man march with nothing but white people.
Lets form a congressional white caucus, How about a national association for the advancement of white people?
How about a miss white America contest?

How about scholarships for white minorities? How about white people getting the inside track for jobs only because they are white?

How about Bill O'reilly pointing out that he thinks Sean Penn, Tim Robbins and Danny Glover should be ashamed of themselves and being called a racist by Glover.

Can any white person say anything to a minority and not be called a racist? Can I write this article and not be thought of as a racist?

How about a white coach being fired from his job for saying blacks are better athletes because of there blackness, and a black coach saying the same thing and not being fired?

There seems to be too damn much INEQUALITY these days, with the deck heavily stacked in favor of minorities.
How about Louis Farrakhan putting for the premise that whites tried to kill blacks by sabotaging the levees in New Orleans? now turn that around and have a white leader say the same thing, that blacks tried to kill whites by sabotage.

How about a major white leader calling Detroit or Cleveland "nigger town" like Jesse Jackson called New York City "Jew York City and Hymie town"

These are just some things I would like answers to.

I know you have stats. I have them as well (about African-Americans). No one here is trying to sidestep them. It's why I do what I do for a living. But to say things like 'Blacks riot in Toledo' and to only say such things, makes one sound racist. Your statements infer, whether intentionally or not, that they are true of all Black people. That is racist. 'Blacks kill whites (and other Blacks)' doesn't sound like you even know of Blacks who don't do such things.

Believing that someone could sound racist is only because someone wants to believe it's a racist statement. Why add the word blacks to Blacks riot in Toledo? Simple, first of all people want detail. Why do they want details? Because we live in a society where one race thinks that the other is lesser and that applies to black people. As you can see I had to point that out cause having been living in Carol City Miami for 5 years tought me that black people ( 90% of the population of Carol City) didn't think they were saying nothing bad about other cultures but everyone spoke bad about them and so it was only fair for them to defend themselves. The details help create statistics that are used to determine who is worse at what.

Here's one for you, I lived in Carol City, as I said before. Carol City is known as the 3rd most dangerous place to be in Miami. Overtown is 1st andLiberty City is second, that's where my sister-in-law lives. Heres the most interesting fact, all 3 areas are about 90% populated by black people. Sure there are black people living in other parts of Miami, specially Homestead, but the population is mixed with Cubans, Mexicans, Puertoricans, South Americans and Americans or white people. So explain to me how I am not suppose to see it as a bad thing for black people in Miami when you can't even go to any of those 3 places without getting looked at hard, having a cop watch your every move, fear that you may not make it across a few streets, etc and if you watch the news, like I did, most criminals or murder, theft or vandalism were blacks. Would you believe the news would avoid showing anything other than black people on purpose?

I am not racist, I have some good friends who are black, hispanic, european and american. I would love to get a piece of international love (have sex with every womam from every nationality). Here's the most interesting thing I have seen, black people telling me what areas in black neighborhoods not to go to. Even they themselves admit it. JMO.

You have a valid point Elie. It seems quite unfair that a white person cannot say something about a black person without it coming out as racist. Sometimes though it's not what is said, it's how it is said and what's inferred. It's a very touchy issue and will continue to be touchy because there are people out there who do it deliberately and don't care what pain they cause when they say some of the things they do.

We don't live in the 1930's are 1960's anymore. Yet we still have this penchant for hatred of others who are different. And it does go both ways too, not just white on black, but black on white, or latino on white, or even sometimes latino on black.

From my viewpoint the one race that seems to be hated and feared more by everyone is black. That's not making an unfair statement, it's a reality. And it's something that not every black person deserves. Is it such a big deal that I'm black? Am I supposed to walk around in fear of others and what they say or think about people who are black? Am I supposed to fear what they think about me because of my race? Truthfully I should worry, but I don't. I should worry because there are folks out in this world who will do anything to prove a point.

However that doesn't make me or others who are of my race and think and feel the way I do, feel superior or act superior because we are this way. We just want to live and enjoy our lives and families like everyone else.

Sometimes I believe it is fear and distrust and plain old hate that causes this type of reaction, and it won't be forgotten because holding on to it give the ones who hate power.

Unfortunately the leaders who are supposed to be a good example are the ones that foster the kind of fears they do because of the power it gives them. Sometimes it's the only way they can get the attention that they need. And that's a sad state of affairs!

ok computer idiot here, what is an "open tag"?

When you do a bold or quote or other formatting in HTML, you have to open it, and then close it (you have seen the quote /quote ones).  An Open tag means that the closing tag was either misspelled or absent.

I do, however, feel uniquely qualified to speak on certain aspects of racial tensions in this country, having lived in predominantly black neighborhoods for most of my adult life, and also having been privy to inner workings of that most feared of Supremacist groups, the KKK.

And I do respect you for choices you have made in your life regarding that.

Thanks Elie...of course writing such articles as these does a lot to open and re-open the eyes of everyone. How else can we get beyond this point if we all don't communicate? So putting it out there is always for the best. [and let me add Whip always says this very thing!]

Agreed. Thanks for sharing you opinoins without slurs and excessive swearing. Thanks also for listening to the points that I try to make. I think I am beginning to understand where Whip comes from.

I recall an article I read years ago, back in the late 80s or early 90s (when the PC mindset was really getting up steam), about a sportscaster who dared to notice, and then even COMMENT, on the fact that the NBA was dominated by blacks. He also added, shamefully, that black in general were, in fact, outstanding atheletes. He got raked over the coals by the NAACP and had to issue a formal apology. or making a POSITIVE comment. So no, you can't say nything at all about a minority, but HOOOOBoy, can they talk about us!

Another incident leaps to mind; remember Jimmy "The Greek" and his infamous explaination as to the superior athletic ability of blacks? He theorized that it came, quite literally, from breeding; slave owners he said, often bred their slaves like they did their animals, for strength and endurance, and of course it comes down through the generations.
+LOL+ That went over like a lead balloon, and of course he was made to apologize.

Why add the word blacks to Blacks riot in Toledo?
---DJBandit

The reason we have to add it is simple: truth. How many whites were out there in streets, tearing down storefronts and bashing in glass doors? I saw a lot of Toledo footage on the news, and I saw not one white face in any of it. Not one.

Think me a jerk with racist issues, if you like, but when you have such a small percentage of the population committng such a large overall percentage of the violent crime (much of it against the majority, at that) in this country, it isn't supposed to say anything? We're just supposed to ignore the incriminating stats and not infer anything from that?
But yet, we're expected to accept without question any negative stats that aid blacks; that show how blacks need more government programs and public money in order to survive and to attain a level of equality (a state actually, and ironically, denied to them by the very programs that are supposed to help them attain it). That's not right; or reasonable.

I think till we put this issue behind us there will always be this wedge between the races for hate mongers to exploit, both white and black and others.

exactly, the truth is just that, the truth, but in this over sensitive society it's fair game to be called racist.

Yep, they sure did. And when Rush Limbaugh made the comment a couple years back that the NFL was playing up that black QB (what was his name? Can't think of it right now) simply because he was black. As a QB he was mediocre, which Rush pointed out. The only thing he could come up with as to wy he was so celebrated was that they were making such a big deal about him because of his race. Rush was made to quit over that, despite the fact that making such comments was exactly what he was hired to do.
