New Subscriber Intros

Let us know who you are.

Just an idea to throw out there....what with the subscription drive going on.
How about a Sticky for new SUBSCRIBERS to intro themselves. You see this on a lot of the sites out there. Something to give people a way to kinda ease into the community without having to worry about stepping on toes or feel like they're intruding into threads, etc.

That kind of post might be able to catch up to Xaltec's "Word Association" fairly quickly.

So for you noob SUBSCRIBERs post a little something about yourself. You know....real name, bank account & credit card numbers, SSN, home address, etc. (just kidding)

What you've got should work fine. More memory always helps though.
If your going to skin Windowblinds you should download the Skinstudio program.
Have fun!

Hello Everyone. Nice to meet all of you. My name is KtSmiley. I am from Colorado. I am a 36 yr old female, married and have two kids. A full time job and part time college that takes up more then part of my time. hehehe

I have actually been looking at WC now for about 3 or 4 years now. I started looking at the site when the wallpapers were less then 600. Before the site was changed I used to be able to see how many were added since I last looked. What are ya at about now 7,000? Anyway, I love to look at all the creations. I have made quite a few things on my own, but nothing very fancy. So I thought it was about time to become a memeber and learn a thing or two from eveyone else. I never became a member because there are a lot of things I don't know how to do and felt too dumb to ask. We I have decided I don't care what I don't know, I care about what I see and what I want to learn. So if you don't mind answering questions, I don't mind asking them.

Right now I am going to college to get my bachelor's degreen in IT so I won't be on frequently until I graduate. I have a full time job and after school activities keep me pretty busy when I don't have homework. But I do look as often as I can and I would enjoy getting to know some of you because, I think several of you are pretty talented. Well sorry about the book, hope to talk to you all soon.

Hello everyone! I am new to the skinning game, but not to comps. Having a lot of compatibility issues with Vista right now, but I can see they are being worked on. Been dabbling with trial versions of stardock for a while, and thought it was high time to commit hehehe. See ya on the boards.

Peace,

It's My Secret

Hi Everyone. I see no one has posted to this thread lately, so I thought I would   I just joined yesterday but have been looking around the website and reading for about 2 weeks.

I have been online since October, 1996 and went from a DOS based computer straight to Win95. Talk about a shock! I am now running WinXP and plan on keeping it til I am forced to do otherwise.

I am from NC and am a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Meaning I am licensed to take in and care for injured and orphaned wildlife. I have been doing this since the early 90's. Due to some health problems, I no longer take in wildlife, but I now run a website where I help people find licensed rehabilitators for the injured and orphaned wildlife they have found. So I spend on average about 14-18 hours a day on the computer.

Needless to say in the past month I have become sick to death of the Windows XP Classic blue task bar at the bottom of my screen... it was screaming to be changed to something other than what Windows was offering. So a quick search on Google brought me to Wincustomize! What a find it was.

But as with everything I do I needed to do some research and a lot of reading as I am just not one to download just anything and run it. One would never believe some of the old programs I have that I "brought over" to WindowsXP from Win98.

So I finally bit the bullet and installed WindowBlinds yesterday and so far have not been disappointed at all. I have found one quirk but have been able to search in the forums to find the answers on how to fix it if I have to do so. One other thing I have found I think is my fault and will play with changing skins another day and see if closing all of the open windows will fix that problem. It seems some toolbar icons from an old skin want to "hang around" after a skin has been changed. But I will figure it out or I know where to come and ask for help!

I know this was rather lengthy, but wanted to say howdy to all of the talented and most gifted artists I have seen on the internet. My hats off to all of you because I have not one artistic bone in my body.
