ALL AVAILABLE FEDERAL HELP

ALL AVAILABLE FEDERAL HELP

Now the Bush Administration is saying federal troops were NOT sent early in the week because the governor of Louisiana didn't ask for them until Wednesday after the storm. However, the governor in her first conversation with President Bush on Monday asked for All Available Federal Help. Since when is the active military not part of the Federal Government? The governor did not specifically list all the types of Federal Help including the active military when speaking with the president? Any reasonable person, when asked for All Available Federal Help would include the military! If Bush had any question when he heard all available federal help from the governor of Louisiana should have asked, including the military? It is remarkable how no matter what Bush does wrong, it NEVER STOPS ON HIS DESK!

As usual you do not know what you are talking about. The 3,500 votes were not counted because the voters were confused and first pinched the ballot thinking they had voted for Gore. Then they say they actually voted for Buchanan. They then punched the ballot a second time causing their vote not to be counted. Thus, 3,500 voters who intended to vote for Gore did not have their votes counted. Bush won Florida by just over 500 votes. If the 3,500 votes for Gore been counted AS THE VOTERS INTENDED, Bush would have lost Florida by just under 3,000 votes! That has NOTHING to do with the recount which is a separate issue. In addition, Gore won the popular vote. Those are the facts!

Col, the media recount included the ballots that stupid people couldn't use right. Bush still won. Winning the popular vote does not get you the Presidency. So like I said col, Bush is twice elected. No conspiracy, and nothing was "stolen".

Are you brain dead? Bush won Florida by some 500 votes. 3,500 people who voted for Gore did not have their votes counted because of the confusion about the ballot in Palm Beach County . If they had had their votes counted as they wanted, BUSH WOULD NOT HAVE WON THE ELECTORAL VOTE IN FLORIDA AND WOULD NOT BE PRESIDENT! WE would not be at War in Iraq. We would not have an Annual Budget deficit etc! It had nothing to do with "stupid people" It was the confusing design of the ballot. No other county had that problem with the ballot used in all other Florida Counties. IF THE VOTERS HAD THEIR CHOICE, BUSH WOULD HAVE LOST! BUSH SHOULD HAVE LOST IN 2000!
He was not elected by the majority of people who choose to vote including in Florida!

Col, you believe Bush was appointed to the position. That is not the truth. For you to believe that wacky conspiracy is typical liberal rhetoric. Why don't you believe the media polls this time col?

You don't know what would have happened if Gore won. Bush's policies got us out of the deficit and the impact of Sept. 11 on the economy.

I never said "Wacky Conspiracy" or anything like it. What I said, is if the votes were counted in Palm Beach County as the voters intended, Bush LOST! The 3,500 votes that were NOT counted because of the confusing ballot gave Bush Florida. Bush did not receive the majority of the votes cast in Florioda. He got the majority of the votes COUNTED in Florida. Thus, Bush was not elected by all the voters who voted in 2000.

Wow, I came here just to make a joke, but if this thread is stuck in the 2,000, there is nothing more hilarious to add. COLON Gene, congratulations for once again proving that an original thought hasn't past through your empty head since when... ever? Enjoy your pity points.

And the recount showed Bush did when even when counting the stupid people votes. What about the military ballots that Gore was trying to get tossed out?

Anyways col, get over it. Bush won twice. There is nothing you can do or say that will change that. You guys lost, and will lose again in the next election.

IslandDog Wrong again. The recount did not include the 3,500 votes because they had two punches. If those people had requested a new ballots when they realized they had punched Buchanan, and completed a new ballot, Bush would have lost. The point is that Bush became President in 2000 not because he received the majority of the votes in Florida. He received the majority of the votes counted! 3,500 people who went out to vote were ignored!

Wrong again col.

MIAMI — President Bush's victory in Florida, which gave him the White House, almost certainly would have endured even if a manual ballot recount stopped by the U.S. Supreme Court had been allowed to go forward. In fact, a comprehensive review of 64,248 ballots in all 67 Florida counties by The Miami Herald; its parent company, Knight Ridder; and USA Today found that the 537-vote margin of Bush, a Republican, would have increased to 1,665 votes under the counting standards advocated by supporters of Democrat Al Gore.

George W. Bush would have won a hand count of Florida's disputed ballots if the standard advocated by Al Gore had been used, the first full study of the ballots reveals. Bush would have won by 1,665 votes — more than triple his official 537-vote margin — if every dimple, hanging chad and mark on the ballots had been counted as votes, a USA TODAY/Miami Herald/Knight Ridder study shows. The study is the first comprehensive review of the 61,195 "undervote" ballots that were at the center of Florida's disputed presidential election.

By your own post # 36, that said a recount would have given Bush a victory by 1,665 votes. Add the 3,500 for Gore that were not counted because of the ballot confusion in Palm Beach, and Gore wins Florida by 1,835 votes (3,500 - 1665). Those 3,500 votes were NOT included in your 1,665 count! YOU LOOSE!

You have no idea what you are talking about col. Accept the fact that you were wrong. The ballots you are talkiing about, the one's punched by stupid people, were counted in a total recount. Bush still won.

Anyways col, it's just an assumption those people voted for Gore, not proof.

What's up col???? Wrong again? And this time with verifiable proof. That is unless you plan on telling USA Today AND the Miami Herald that they're lying!

Your post #46 proves my point. You claim if all the votes were recounted, Bush would have won by 1,665 votes. Now add the 3,500 Gore votes that were not included in Palm Beach County because of the Ballot confision and Gore wins by 1,835 Votes ( 3,500 for Gore less the recount you claim of 1,665 for Bush). Those 3,500 votes were NOT included in the recount results you sighted!.. You LOOSE!

NO! You lose! Re-read the end of #45. And your own reply blows it. If "all" the votes had been counted, your much vaunted 3500 would have already "been" counted!

"He puts his fists against the post and still insists he sees the ghosts"

Don't remember where I ran across this originally (Stephen King quoting someone else?), but it's appropriate here.

COL, how does:

if every dimple, hanging chad and mark on the ballots had been counted as votes

imply that they WERE NOT counted? The word there (bolded) is all inclusive. So, unless your precious MSM (and Democratic/Liberal folks primarily) were wrong, it seems that they agreed that the count was wrong. Where you're missing the boat, they admitted that the vote count was wrong IN BUSH'S FAVOR.

And that'll be all I have to say.
