How to get rid of obsolete Flag Ship design?

Whenever I play GC4 Supernova I see this Flag Ship design show up in my ship yards, but it's not build-able and I can't select it and use the button to obsolete it.

I participated in the beta for GC4 on Epic over a year ago, and at some point players were able to design and build their own flag ships, so I'm pretty sure I did that. Since the original version on Epic and Supernova on Steam both use the same My Games\GalCiv4 folder, I might be seeing some leftover file there.

But I've gone through every folder in my GalCiv4 folder and cleaned out everything except a few custom races I made. So I'm wondering where this ship design is hiding and how I can get rid of it.

Any help appreciated.

If you obsolete the survey ship (flag ship), you're never getting it back. Its a flaw in the ship management system. You can't unobsolete designs.

Obsoleting default designs ships caused problems for a player a while back (in base game I believe) when a player obsoleted the default colony ship, but the game relied on that design for the colony ship executive order. It broke the game if I recall correctly.

I think more important is that we some clarification on if we will ever need to build one again.  Does having survey modules make flagships obsolete because any ship can become a flagship (but you need a survey module), or if somehow all your flagships are destroyed, can you build one flagship (capable of surveying) like before, even if you don't have a survey module?

So you're saying that unbuildable flag ship is actually the starting survey ship? Do you see the same thing in you games?

Yes. There is supposed to be only one flagship at a time. Though there are ways to get more survey ships. I think the first culture trait for individualism gives you a ship that can survey.

I don't agree with the limit. I'd rather have more than just 1 survey ship.

Anyways, I think this is a situation where nailing this bug would create several more bugs. Gotta be careful with this one.

You can receive more than one survey ship, from events and many of the command ships are survey.

You cannot build more than one unless you get survey modules from events.

I believe the prob Publius is having is related to the ship he wants to obsolete is one that would replace his original Survey ship if it was lost.

Publius of NV - If you can remove the survey module from that ship you designed, wait for an event to give you the ability to make a ship able to survey anomalies, send it to the Vault, build the ship, and then make your ship a flagship by activating the survey maker, you'd get your ship back }:)

I can't even find that ship anymore in the ship designer.

What with my starting survey ship, my commander flag ships, and additional ships made flag ships by the vault artifacts, I have plenty of ships capable of surveying.

I just want to get that unbuildable ship out of the list of ships at my shipyards.
