Groupy 2.1 Release Feedback Thread

With the Groupy 2.1 release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the product

Object Desktop members can get the release from within Object Desktop Manager 

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Groupy a better product.

1- when I open a new app or folder, it's automatically open and group with opened one. I'd like to open a new window and not together.

2- Can I create a rule when I open a single app, the Groupy ontem a saved group?

It would only do that, group with an already grouped set, if you told it to:

or via the plus button for apps that can respond to it

I haven't used the Beta yet, but also never heard back from you after only having heard that you couldn't reproduce the issue.
There's also nothing in the changelogs indicating that the issue has been resolved.
Please let me know if you need more information/details.

I've installed version 2.1 on my PC and have been playing around with it these past few hours. Here are some of my observations and thoughts.

Bugs:

  • Accent colours don't work with square corners enabled
  • Accent colours don't work for LibreOffice; they simply disappear when any attempt is made to save them. I've also tried directly running only one of the sub-programs (e.g: swriter.exe, scalc.exe) and setting it that way but no success.
  • File explorer doesn't adhere completely to the setting "Do not paint a tab when only one tab exists for the group" (for some reason my mouse isn't visible on the image, but it's located on the left edge of the label)

Requests:

  • More settings for Custom Rules
    • The option to set a combined button for a specific configuration\rule-set, without impacting either the global or another configuration's setting; additionally the option to set a custom icon instead of the auto-generated one.
    • Not sure if this is even possible or not but maybe the option to set a custom window edge & titlebar colour
  • Alternative style for accent colours where instead of the stripe across the top of the tab, the background is coloured
  • Instead of the background colour indicating the active tab; the option to instead have also or only an outline for the active tab (such as the example below)

As the 2.11 Beta has been in the wild for some time, there are likely issues being reported here that have already been addressed in it.

With that, we are closing this thread and asking posters here to participate in the 2.11 thread if they still have issues with that version.
