I am having some issues with the 2.1 update [I have done an uninstall, reboot and reinstall which has not fixed it]

I have set Groupy 2 to Integrate the Tabs. When starting some apps (like PowerPoint) which loads maximized, Groupy 2 is overlapping the window as shown and I have to restore window and then maximize for it to display correctly.

Which version of Windows are you using and do you have Groupy set to autohide tabs in any state?

If Groupy 2 is active and ActualTools Window Manager has enabled any titlebar buttons, (most) application windows cannot be restored after maximizing, but will stay maximized.

Exact Windows version: Windows 10 22H2 19045.3208 x64

Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen:
- ActualTools Window Manager should display at least one additional titlebar button (it does by default)
- Groupy 2: my configuration is to show always the Groupy bar, on top of the window
- Start Windows calculater
- Click the maximize titlebar button
- The window will be maximized
- Click the button again to restore the old window size
- The window will stay maximized

In general it seems to work with windows, where tabs are always shown: It’s working as expected in Explorer, while TaskManager is also affected by the problem

Specific apps that the app does not work (well) with:
ActualTools Window Manager 8.15 http://www.actualtools.com/windowmanager

It would be nice, if I could have the best of two worlds :)

ActualTools Window Manager

And if that is not enabled, everything is fine, yes?

Windows 10 [10.0.19045.3208]

Tabs set to always visible...

Yes, if I disable ActualTools Window Manager or if I remove all custom titlebar buttons, restoring the window size is working as expected.

Windows 11 Version 2382 (0S Build 22631.2129)

the problem is overlapping and hepped with PDF-XChange Editor app.

Is there any chance, you provide a direct download link to the beta executable?
As there were some changes to the behavior of windows, I'd like to test, if my problem with ActualTools Window Manager is solved

If you purchase, Mike, and it does not meet your needs, it can be refunded in the 30 day window.

As for your issue, this MAY address it but we cannot promise anything for 3rd party app conflicts:

  • Resolved issue with window positioning, when opened, maximized on some applications

Do let us know when you do.

Scratch all that, Mike.  For your help with Groupy 2 translations, I have renewed \ extended your old OD sub through 05/12/2024.

Thank you for that, again, Mike.

  • Windows Version 22H2 22621.2134

  • Groupy Version 2.11

  • I have noticed windows are shrinking in size by themselves.  Only when the window is maximized, the size of the windows periodically shrinks by itself as your cursor moves off the window to the groupy tab area and back onto the app. It only seems to do it on the right side and the bottom, leaving the top and left size docked to the sides of the screen.

Affected: all programs.

I'm using Groupy release version 2.1 and have a Startup group for Outlook 365 (64 bit) and NEO Pro (64.bit - an Outlook add-in from www.caelo.com). Closing groups → "When tabs are integrated into the title bar the close button should close the entire group" is active. Using the Startup shortcut, the two programs launch together and exit together. However, they don't minimize or restore together.

As a group:

  • If I minimize while NEO is active, NEO minimizes and Outlook remains present. If I then minimize and restore Outlook, only Outlook restores, and NEO remains minimized. If I restore NEO, the two programs restore and are grouped again.
  • If I minimize while Outlook is active, the group remains present (as if I hadn't minimized Outlook).

Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try this, uninstall Groupy, reboot immediately after (important), redownload the latest version, install that version, reboot again after installation done. Retest and report back.

Thanks

The beta is available on Steam:

If you still have issues, we would like to as you to quantify 'periodically'.  Any actual crashes of an app, we would need dumps if at all possible.  This page documents how to collect them for Start11 but the process would be the same for Groupy.

Thanks, I didn't know Steam had a Beta channel. I will try this and see how it goes for a while.
If I run into any problems, I'll try to get a dump.
