The point is, people do not belong jumping all over others who come into the message board on a whim, an itchy butt, or a tingling ear...
There are Admins, WizOps and Moders to handle any post, between all of them they do read each and every single thread when it starts out. You know all it takes is once, one time where people jump all over someone and are so off base that it is drinking hot coffee and missing your mouth by 6 inch's only to pour it in your lap, shocking yet a learning experience to say the least. The only thing is the damage is done and all it lends to is a rumor that WinCustomize has a pack of Wolves running about on the loose.
Kidding and joking around is great, it is part of what gives life to the board.
But I can tell you with a deep understanding I would wish upon no one. To have one person claim you are something or have done something you have not is one of the worst feelings to have. To have a number of people do it is even worse. It is also something that can be shrugged off, but it is not something that really ever go's away.
This is a really good, solid group of people on this site, some of the best people I have known online and some I am getting to know. With all our differences I find that there is not anyone which I personally do not care for. People help out each other, spend time killing time, joke, laugh and play around.
I've noticed more than a few times someone will post something to the affect that this site has inner circles, and leaves one with a feeling of being on the outside while watching all that go's on with those on the inside. A feeling of being either second glass, or un-wanted.
Now I know this is not the case, though I am hard pressed to defend what I know when taking into consideration some of the things we do on the board which lends to that and other negative impressions some hold or have held in the past. Frankly speaking, and Bobly if you like, I do not feel it is beyond us to make the small changes which will present the site as it is ment to be , not only open to each and every person but as with old friends *everyone already here greeting them wondering where they have been*...
It isn't beyond the people on this site, but I do know that growling, snapping and even going as far to bite first is below us...
anyway...
Hey, for those like UzEE who just don't get it, yeah it fun to joke, but in the end I find it rather sad for him because he not only does not get it, it seems he never will and I do find that one of the saddest things he will have to face in life.
I know for some it is just the Internet and it is just a message board, that is fine and I would not think or feel they should see or use it otherwise. "Those people have foudn it"
I also know that for others it is the one place where they can be who they are without worry of those in real life over shadowing them, the one place where they can have power over their reality. "They also have found it"
Even others find it a good place to meet people and maybe some new friends. A place to share and help others when they can, or to find it when they need it. "Again they found it"
Some fit into all of the above and even more, people are dynamic and personalities are not static so the meaning changings like a tide between day and night, calm and stormy. "Found it again"
"IT" being what is needed or sought after, what fills that place which was the reason for coming here, including being a part of "it" all...
Who knows, maybe for UzEE (as an example) attempting to fit in while taking all the wrong paths is what it is all about, maybe he has found "it". Though I find that hard to believe because of all the mixed signals thrown around with all his visits.
Hell, I guess what I am saying is this. Wincustomize is not an exclusive club and none of would want it that way to begin with and we do want to protect the people and the site which is natural with something you find a connection with, be it people, a thing, a thought and or a concept. The thing that needs care is to not kill it while attempting to preserve it by bleeding it to death with a 1000 tiny cuts. It can not be freely open to everyone and not exclusive if we in turn leave people with that impression, in fact that is exactly what it becomes...

...we get these posts on our boards, and they seem fairly common. Almost never is there a follow-up post. Through time, I have come to think that these are people new to the internet, and to message boards, who are checking this new thing out. Maybe trying out their new second language, too. Then again, I have never replied to one. But I would be in a position to get complaints if there was anything bad happening. And I have not.
