Display bug with the first icon of a toolbar.

Hello,

I have a display bug with the first icon of a toolbar.

Here is what it looks like.

The display of the icon 1 (in red) is ok, the 2 (in red) not.

I created the toolbar by doing :

Right click on the taskbar, toolbars and New toolbar...

How to solve the problem ?

I thought of moving the search icon, but I don't know how.

I am under windows 10 21H2 with windowblind 11, start11 and Iconpackager (they are up to date)

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I can not recreate your issue on my system. Refer screenshot below. Does the issue appear on any WB style or specific Style?

Thanks

Attention it is not for the pinned icons.

But those added in a toolbar

I created the toolbar by doing :

Right click on the taskbar, toolbars and New toolbar...

And why do you need to do that, while simply pin an app will do the same? Tool bar icons never work quite correctly on system with WB running.

That's just a size margin issue that can be fixed in skin studio. Looks like the left side may be not set right.

If you right click the taskbar, hover over search and turn off the icon. See if it still is cut off. If it is, then its what I posted above that may solve it.

im one of those people that prefer to use toolbar over pin to taskbar. Its just bad ui design to have pinned apps in between open task. Having them always to the left or right is better work flow. The theme he is using most likely has impropper sizeing margins setup for the graphic of toolbar buttons.

By deleting an icon, the problem persists.

Where in skinstudio should I look, there are so many options it's complicated?

I don't really like pinned icons, matter of habit. And I like to have the icons always at hand.

Its located here in skin studio. Post a pic of your button in skin studio so I can see what yours looks like.

Sorry SimplexDesigns and Jerome87 but that is not the Quicklaunch icon button, it is the Buttons image, Paint Margins. The Quicklaunch icon button only shows up if you open a Toolbar on the taskbar.  :-)

Thats what we are talking about. We are not talking about pinned taskbar icons, but quicklaunch toolbar icons. He is using the toolbar feature thats been in windows all the way up to win10. Was trying to see if his margins were not set right as it looked cut off on the left side of the button.

It does not do that for any of the themes Included with WB on my system nor my own themes. I tried the one you linked as well. Seems fine on my end. Tested on my Win10 VM.

Are you using Start11 or something else for the start button?

Quicklaunch icons would not appear on the left side like that though, they would appear to the right side of the taskbar with a vertical separator to the left of the icons.

Like that. :-)

They can be moved to the left side by unlocking taskbar and dragging the separator to the left side of the taskbar buttons, then drag the left side of the taskbar buttons to shrink the size it takes up. Done it on my system.

Yes, but the image he posted does not show the icons as being in a Quicklaunch toolbar area, there is no vertical separator to the left. Either way, he can try both areas for a fix. :-)

When you lock the taskbar the separator disappears.

OK, well, hope he gets it resolved either way. :-)

I use Start11.

If I remove the search icon, it works fine, but with no. I want to keep the search icon.

If someone knows a way to move the search icon, I'm interested. (to the right of the other icons)

Im not getting that on my system. Try removing the toolbar and re-adding it back. Also are you using any other modifications to windows that might be tampering with the taskbar?

That search icon also cannot be moved, just toggled on or off.

I think its the start button. Can you try using the default themed button.

Thanks

I tried several times to remove it and recreate it but same problem.

I use Windowblind 11, start11 and Iconpackager. (All up to date)

Too bad for the pinned search icon because otherwise I would have removed it and added it as an icon on the right.

Same problem with the default start button. (Windowblind => settings => Always use the Os start... ?)

Try using the Start button that come with the WB theme. And try it on "Diamond"

Same problem.

Maybe a problem with the graphics drivers ? (they are up to date)

Or a not adapted resolution. 1920 / 1080 17" ? (laptop)

Resolution should be fine. Your Scaling? 100%, 125%,150% etc? Also, try updating Windows to latest V22H2.
