WindowBlinds 11 Release Issue Report thread

With the WindowBlinds 11 release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining WindowBlinds 11 

Object Desktop members can get the release from within Object Desktop Manager 

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive services (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and links included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

A suggestion under settings, "Use the task bar and Start menu from style:" have a choice of either, "Start11" or "Default theme" don't know if it's possible but if you can choose different styles from other themes it seems that you could be able to choose either the default theme or Start 11 theme.

Can I ask why you would want this, aren't you essentially removing 75% of the purpose of this program if that was an option?

Because I prefer the way Start11 makes the taskbar and menu. Unfortunately I don't know enough about skinning to remove the way a skin changes the task bar. Since you can choose different styles from other themes it seems that you could be able to choose either the default theme or Start 11. To be honest I had forgotten where the setting, "use the taskbar and start menu from styles" was. When I found it again I decided to repost. Don't mean to bug you guys either I just think it would be a decent option if it's at all possible.

Perhaps, I need a big learning curve when comes to skinning, time will tell. Love glass look and feel. Especially Windows 7 Style but I prefer start 11s taskbar options look and feel. I believe it would be a useful option especially if the  choice of "Start11"  Thanks for listening.

so how do I upload it? Also Cribbage deluxe from the Microsoft store if minimized to the taskbar then click to maximize causes it to crash this has been happening since beta 1

You don't. Go to the video on YouTube. Under the video, choose "Edit video". On the next page, click the visibility tab on the right and change it to public.

Come back here to the forum and insert the link to the video from the toolbar:

Noticed a bug when you maximize file explorer to full screen using the key f11. The address bar section turns completely black and does not seem to pull its image from Windowblinds.

Light icons on light Background. To solve set icons with black or dark color. Use Skinstudio and refer screenshot to where to change it.

Wish we were able to customize the font/icon colors with windowblinds of start11 win10/11 styles. Being hardcoded to light/dark mode really limits what we can do with the background images..

I have no problem with Cribbage Deluxe. Pressing F11 with Explorer crashes the instance forcing the window to close! This is with "Dragon" skin.

This is normal if you have disabled the ribbon in explorer.

I'm kind of confused on this.  I already have the OS in dark mode.  Can someone break this down for me, so I can understand.

Why would I need WB11 to put the OS in dark mode when it's always in dark mode?

The option is what WB does with the OS mode.  WB will set the OS into the light/dark mode automatically by default based on what the skin is set to request.  If the skin does not then by default it would set the OS into light mode as thats the mode the skin would have been designed for.

The other options are overrides for you to say, no ignore the skin, I want it to always be light or dark mode.

Happens when I try to search for something. Maybe a fault in my skin or or a wb11 issue? I played with the painting option, no joy there. the crumbs box works ok

Please make your own thread if you have issues related to creating/modifying your own skin(s).

This thread is for reporting issues encountered with the latest version of Windowblinds, and when doing so, it is very much preferred using one of the default skins. That way it's a lot easier for the devs to follow up on those issues.
