Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Did you get the latest Start11 beta as well, Jan (released today)?

Hi JanOscar,

Trying to reproduce the issue, but cannot so far. I wanted to try and recreate with your settings, it looks like you care using centered start, but wanted to confirm for sure. Any thing else running that you can thin of that might interfere with either WB or Start11

Testing different things, I find the issue only occurs when I have the taskbar center aligned option enabled in Start 11.

I only use Stardock products to customize Windows. In addition to Windowblinds and Start 11, I use IconPackager, CursorFX & Fences.

Win10 v21H2 build 19044.2251
Start11 v1.33
WB v11.00 beta 3

The taskbar transparency has gone sideways again. It is slightly different this time. I installed Start11 and WB at the same time so I don't know which one caused it. This is Lantana:

Thanks.

The beta version acts like this https://youtu.be/kLcbqk38KJE

Please don't post multiple posts on the same issue. That video you posted was on Windowblinds 10 on Windows 11 which is not compatible. Please carry on in your other thread.

Thank you,

Start11 1.34 should take care of that issue. Released as beta today.

Yes it did, thank you very much. :)

The blurring oddity in the top image remains (no blur underneath the left end of the visible taskbar image), but the only skin I've found so far that I see that on is Lantana, so maybe that's more of a Lantana thing.

Thanks.

Still not happy about the automatic dark mode feature still being enabled by default. Please for the life of everyone that has complained in all 3 beta threads. Disable it by default. You guys have hundreds of skins in the gallery and many that will never support the feature. Its not properly supported by themes yet and should not be enabled until you actually have a decent amount of skins to support it. I dont want to have to tell people my themes looking darker thinking its a bug when in fact its not. Please listen to your customers feedback on this feature.

Now some issues I have with WB11 skinning start 11.

#1 Posted this in beta 2 post and it never got answered. Is it possible to add margins to the top of the menus for either 10 or 11 styles, I cant seem to find any way of doing so like it can with windows 7 style.

#2 Is it possible to define font color for these new start menus as well or it it tied to the crappy dark/light mode system?

The item hover and scroll bars seem to not be loading from WB style rather be rendered via start11, is there any plans for those to be skinned by WB11 as well?

I think you are missing something about the automatic dark feature.  It isn't a feature a skin has to support, it exists because skins lack dark mode support.  It would not be needed if skins had dark mode parts already.  Without it there would simply be other issues when an app assumes that it will be dark.  This wasn't an issue in the past but more and more apps are starting to add dark mode options.

I am afraid text colour is either light or dark on the menu.

You should be able control the margins using the extra settings options on the Advanced Values items on the Edit Win11/10 menus.

The scrollbars are not exposed to WB as we had not considered those.  It might be possible to expose those too, though without any size adjustment purely painting in the location etc they are already painting.

I have the same problems with firefox and wb beta 3 like with beta 2.

https://forums.wincustomize.com/515260/page/3/#3868737

I have enabled and disabled this option :

 ......without a result.

 I set firefox to ignore.....

           ........without a result.

I don´t understand why works many of my wb skins without a problem and others works not

and why is it firefox only, microsoft edge works good?

My windows version is 21H2 (Build 22000.527) and the newest version 1.34 of start 11.

ohne Ergebnis.

I do understand how it works. Works perfectly fine under WB10 on windows. In order to get light or dark icons and text I would just modify the color mode under windows settings like I do with WB11. However your OPTION for darkening the window frames added in WB11 messes with the themes. That should never happen unless the user wants that option enabled. This is 100% WB11 doing the darkening to the frames/buttons. Its not windows doing so. If my theme does not support dark mode and wont be getting it, I dont want WB doing any darkening of the frames and buttons. It should apply as it did with WB10. Some apps that I use are manually in dark mode and others I have that only support light mode. When this stupid option is on it tinkers with my style. Simply turning it off and my style looks perfectly fine as it did in WB10.

All we are asking is that button be off by default and when you apply a theme ask if you wish to enable that option. Its that simple. I dont know why you guys struggle to understand this. Like I said in the previous post. There are hundreds of styles in the gallery and most will never support the new dark mode textures mode. So by using those themes, it will do stuff like this.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I think it is best for you to create your own new thread specific on Firefox Vs WB11 beta. It easier that way.

Thanks

So, as my posting was removed: Will there any decent dark skin be included to test with WB11?

Really wish the font color was decided with Windowblinds rather than windows when a skin is applied. That really limits what we can do style wise with start11.

Changing the margin settings in that section does nothing to the menu under 10/11 styles. Does not shift the content down at all. Tried all setting under there, nothing happens.
