Can't run the game

Entry Point Not Found error

Running the game from the Epic Store launcher doesn't work, and when I manually run the sins2.exe I get a popup saying "procedure entry point for GetDpiForWindow could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll".

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Are you sure the screen has focus? can you click on it with the mouse?

Hey Julius!

I invite you to read this post that Brad put out earlier this week outlining more clearly what our intent is for this technical preview. Our interview with PC Gamer also clearly outlines expectations and what our roadmap is. Hope this helps!

Interesting. If you would like to ping me on Discord (I'm Derek#7342) I'm happy to screen share and check it out with you.

thedreamon and I had a call and it started working. We think maybe he wasn't logged into epic, once he clicked that popup to login he seems fine.

Thank you for your kind help. It works now. My discord was offline maybe it was the case.

Thanks again for this great game.

That usually means you aren't logged into Epic (for some reason you can have the launcher up, but not be logged in).

Typically there is a popup somewhere asking you to validate your epic login. Once you click okay to that you will be fine.

I've pinged you on Discord just to make sure this works for you.

Hello, I can't start the game. It always hangs up at the start screen.

I have the following system:

- RTX 3080

- 32GB DDR4

- Win 11

Same here. Stuck at the 'Press any key' step.

Running TechPreview_1a 1.0.12.0 Windows  H2 on the following specs :

  • i9-10900KF
  • RAM : 32 Go
  • GPU : 3080 Ti

Running sins2.exe directly from the install directory returns the following error:

'Epic Game Ownership is unknown. You must start the game when connected to Epic at least once before playing offline. If you believe that you have received this message in error, please view our troubleshooting guide. If the problem persists, please visit our support forums.

version=1.0.12 (18)

log=C:\Users\phnx_\AppData\Local\sins2_pre_alpha\logs\sins2_log_13272.txt'

Is there a way to upload the log file for you to chek it out ?

I checked my login status on the Epic Launcher and i'm logged in.

Yes, it appears our fix was not successful on the test build. We'll keep looking at it.

Just a heads up : I installed Epic Games on another computer of mine, with drastically different specs (way lower actually) and was able to start the game just fine.

I also uninstalled the game, and Epic Games from the main computer, then installed again, with the same result as above.

Hope this tidbit of information can help pinpoint the issue. I'm not really eager to play Sins II on a 6 yo laptop O:)

Not 100% successful but it fixed some people.
