Just downloaded and installed the latest version of WB11 last night, and am noticing the icons on the taskbar are matched with the wrong application (e.g., Brave uses the Zoom icon, Notepad++ uses the Firefox icon, etc.). Some of the icons it uses are for applications that aren't on the taskbar, so wherever it's getting its list of icons is the wrong one. I don't see this bug being reported above, so maybe there's a simple workaround I missed. I did try changing to different themes, as well as rebooting the computer, but nothing fixed it.

Is anyone else's start button not having the skin applied? Have I perhaps switched something off or on without noticing? I'm on windows 10.

Do you have Start11 installed?

I do but when I use WB11 it overrides my taskbar settings in Start11. Am I missing something is there a way to prevent WB11 from overriding Start11?

This is WB10 but I imagine there is a similar setting in WB11.  If the option is ticked, WB should use the start button chosen in Start11.  If it's not ticked, WB should use the button from the WB skin.  You'll need to apply the skin again after changing it for the change to take effect:

Running Windows 11, 22h2, when I choose a style, the theme appears to be in dark mode and the text in Explorer is black, so I can't see it.  Even if I choose light mode in the style settings, or change to light mode in the Windows settings, it will still have a dark background with black text.  This happens in all styles

same exact scenario for me, WB11 is unuseable at this point

The start menu button is not styled.

I tried with the "Always use the OS Start button rather than the style one" option checked AND unchecked, but the button doesn't change.

I don't have Start10 / Start11 installed on my computer.

I believe, something similar to this has been reported before. And it has something to do with HDR. Try turning it off and see if the issues go away. Restart Explorer.exe might also needed.

You need Start11 to make Windowblinds to be able to change the start button.

Also, you can't style/skin the start button if it is center aligned.  Only a left aligned start button can be skinned.

If you are using Start11 1.25 can you update to 1.27 beta as I believe that is resolved.

You need Start11 to make Windowblinds to be able to change the start button.

If the start menu is not styled because I don't have Start10 installed, Stardock needs to bundle the two software together.

When I had the stable version of WindowBlinds (version 10.--), it changed the style of the start button too.

I am asking the developers to re-evaluate this decision and for them to change the start menu button without installing Start10 or Start11.

Thanks.

Hello,

I got 2 displays, second is above first one.

Problem ; there is a blurred line above 1st screen when task bar is hidden.  No issue when system bar is displayed.

Thanks

[Edit] I got option to have task bar on all screens ON.  Of course, no issue, if OFF..

To obtain the full look of a Windowblinds skin you need to purchase Start 10 and Windowblinds 10 if you use Windows 10, and Start 11 and Windowblinds 11 if you use Windows 11. This is due to Microsoft changing things.

====================> bug report

I want to report 3 bugS, reprodusable to mysetup:

1) from time to time, the icons on the system tray of the skinned taskbar will vanish (only the icons. time/date, language and sound default         icons are still present) when I hoover my mouse over the empty area the icons redraw.....

2) opening the snip&cut windows tool, while windowblinds 11 settings are open, freezes the hell out of the system. Only way out is

   to hard reset or control-alt-delete and choose sign-out.

3) windows file browser have huge black areas after skinned (the title bar is indeed skinned) but with so much black is unusable....

these 3 bugs are 100% reprodusable in my setup. I don't really know if this is some incompatibility issue with some app I have installed

but they seem legit enough to report.

=====================> feature request

And one feature that I want you to implement:

1) Please give us the option to NOT have the taskbar skinned. we already have the option to choose the skin of the taskbar separate

     from the skin of the system BUT for some reason the default skin option is not there together with the skins we have installed...

     this would helo a lot and in my mind it seems an easy to implement feature

Thank you dear stardock for your great work....

=======================> my setup configuration

windows 11 22h2, localised greek, fully updated. gpu nvidia gtx 3050 latest drivers, cpu i5-11500K, asus motherboard, sata iii samsung 870 evo 512gb system ssd, 16gb ram , monitor 2k resolution with 150% magnification, NO HDR, windowsblinds latest beta (cannt post settings

because when i open the snip&cut tool with windowsblinds loaded my pc freezes...), malwarebyte premium protection,

CURSORFX latest loaded, and tool modernflyouts from microsoft store ver 0.9.30(latest) loaded

Sure enough, turning off HDR did fix the issue.  That's to bad because I really like HDR being enabled.  Maybe someday Windowblinds will work with it turned on.  Thank you for your reply!

Disable HDR under display settings.
