windows blinds makes everything black had to uninstall. After uninstalling it changed to system default Dark theme where originally I had a light theme. I tried changing and editing the skin it showed a white background but I changed it to a gray and no change still all black. If I select system default theme everything goes back to windows 11 normal. 

thats exactly what was happening to me, except I couldnt get things back to normal by uninstalling and selecting default theme

glad you got yours fixed with out having to do a windows restore like I did

Just installing caused this, or setting a specific skin?

Any skin, including Lantana that comes with WB 11, that has a taskbar that doesn't go flush with the screen/monitor, has this opaque grey looking section behind the taskbar.  Both ends.

 

Is this WB 11, or is it Start 11?

 

How can I fix it?



 

 



 

Yep, that happens to me when I turn HDR mode on. Every theme, except for the default one makes the screen menus black with black text. I wish there was a way to make the text in the menus a lighter color to temporarily fix this until a permenant solution is made.

Well it works great BUT inside explorer its black with ever windowblinds I use. Now selecting the default theme kinda changes it back but I just open task manager and quit explorer and restart it all back to normal. 

Ok didn't see the post above said HDR...haha yeah forgot I had that on. Turned it off and all works great. 

Also this is with the latest DEV version of Windows 11

I know I have a tendency to be impatient, but my reply is the very first one on this thread. 

I never got an answer or even acknowledgement in Teams either.  

That looks like the non-blurred transparency failure that appeared in Start11 v1.24.  Support should have an internal ticket on it.  If the skin is made without blur in the taskbar and blur is not forced in WBConfig, the taskbar area is opaque.  If the skin is made with blur in the taskbar or if blur is forced in WBConfig the taskbar area is displayed with acrylic blur and the appropriate transparency.

Just installing it. Same no matter what skin I choose. Also tried editing skin change background from white to light gray no changes all black.

Turning off HDR worked. Hopefully there will be a fix for it.

WB doesn't work at all with ESET NOD32 installed.

Even with the instructions of WB10 about HIPS applied, i still have a error, telling that WB isn't corrected installed.

Sorry Jim for being late, I was having issue installing WB11 on my system whole day yesterday. Yup, I see it too on my Win10 and 11. I have forwarded this issue to Support and Dev for them to review it. Appreciate your input and patience.

yes mate, i am using Object Dock as well on Win 11. both start 11 and object dock worked perfectly before, after WB 11 install i had the start menu issue

I believe it is known that ObjectDock is not compatible with Windows 11 and there are lots of reports similar as yours on the Start11 Start Menu panel shifted when running with ObjectDock. Please try uninstall ObjectDock and see if the issue goes away.

The problem only started when I installed Windowblinds 11. Up until that point Start 11 and Objectdock have coexisted quite happily. So I did a test, I uninstalled Windowblinds 11 and the issue resolved, Start Menu back to normal and Objectdock still working great. I then reinstalled Windowblinds 11 again and the issue has returned. So its not a start 11/Objectdock conflict. Something within the Windowblinds beta is causing an issue. I expect this with beta software so I'm not particularly worried. But I just thought i would bring it to Stardocks attention.

P.S. I should have thought to include a Screenshot of my Desktop after I Uninstalled WB 11 but I forgot, And I couldn't be bothered going through the whole thing again, Sorry   .

Here is a Screenshot with Objectdock stopped from loading at Startup. As you can see the issue of the Start Menu remains. 

Have you tried uninstalled ObjectDock while Windowblind still installed?

ObjectDock not installed, only Start11 and windowblinds11.
