Starbase bug? or works as intended?!

So I'm having some issues with my Starbases...

For one, it seems that mining stations can't build the Support Field Stabilization to expand their area of influence, which is really bad for mining bases as you can save a bunch by having just one base instead of two in a resource cluttered, but wide area.

Another issue are the military bases, which can't seem to build any of the starbase defence platforms... Effectivly making military bases the weakest base you can make ironically.... Sure it gives the ship buff/debuffs, but it'll only really work if you station a bunch of ships in them, and I like to build militarybases along hyperlanes and choke points, but not really viable in GalCiv4 if the military base is A. Nerfed, B. Needs a crap ton of ships defending it.

This was never an issue in GalCiv3, is this some "improvement" in GalCiv4 or is it what it really is... a bug?

Not sure about the lack of support field stab for mining bases, that might be intentional.

There was (is?) a bug with military starbases where they cannot build all of the correct combat modules.  I suspect that this is what you're experiencing..

that's correct. Not all modules are on the build list for the military base, and for the mining bases, it's only the Support Field Stabilization that's missing that gives +2 to your zone of control, and I can't see the reason to why I can't build it. I had to settle for building a culture starbase just to be able to nab all resources between an AI faction.

oooh, right "support field stab" is the +2 range.  yea, I always assumed that was for mining bases.  I'm guessing this is a bug also.  TBH by the time I'm able to research this tech the mining rush is over, so I keep forgetting about it...

Yeah, it's really only mining bases that benefit from this tech, and it's the one base that can't build it.
