1. do you have a simple/clear feature comparion list from "Fences 3" vs. "Fences 4"?

2. I own "Fences 3". Is then "Fences 4" a free or paid update?

The main differences are. 1. Fences is a little faster on startup. 2. Windows peek. 3. Rounded corners and other slight changes to go with Windows 11. 4. Biggest one is here, Fences 4 will be getting more updates in the future. Fences 3 is officially retired and what you have is what you get..

Stardock seems to have their development cycle to mirror Windows. Since Windows 11 is new I suspect Fences 4 will be the main program for somewhere between 5 - 7 years until Windows 12 comes out. Also, since Windows 11 came out, they probably figured it was the natural stopping point for Fences 3. So far the changes are pretty small between 3 and 4 but I am guessing they will eventually come back to Fences 4 and release some updates as there are a lot of ideas floating around how to improve it further.

That is correct. The only silver lining I can provide is both purchases will be at discount. I believe it is 2 dollars off for every purchase unless they somehow become deeper discounts the more you buy.

This still does not sounds like the big deal with only 20% discount for longtime users.

Fences 3 is running perfect and is a bug free product.

I havent eben here in a while I just want to point out that through your link, the features mentioned seem to eb the same existing ones from the previous version.

 

Altough I did get Fences 4, I see no difference from the previous version except that maybe it opens a bit faster on windows startup.

If you read through Fences Change log/History you will notice lot of work has been put in since Fences 3.: https://www.stardock.com/products/fences/history
