Start11 version 0.91

No issues, but wishes :
I am using the Windows 11 Style with 1 additionaly page created. I like that Windows 11 Style, but i have to use the mouse to switch between the pages and the switch "buttons" are very small. Is there a plan to use keybaord also to switch then pages?
Perhaps also coming back to the last Page when I reopen the startmenu? I like that the Windows 10 Style restarts at the last position, that's helpfull, in my optinion...

The sorting issues are now gone with this release, so I am happy with the Windows 11 Menu now! :)

When a start11 menu is enabled, left click (single finger press) on touch devices does not work as expected on the taskbar, not sure if this a bug or a setting (tested with a hp spectre 360)

Do you know when a supported version is released? I paid for this software in windows 10, but I haven't been able to use it since switching to 11. :/

The title bar is totally transparent.
Yep, Curtains only creates a transparent title bar, although the buttons change correctly.
It also doesn't seem to have a lot of effect on the taskbar ether.

Is there any known fix for this? I spent a lot longer looking for this in the form of a setting than I am willing to admit. :D

Thanks for your help, all!

I think you are in the wrong thread.  This is about Start11 not Curtains.

Edition Windows 10 Home

Version 21H1

OS build 19043.1288

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0

I'm using Windows 7 Style.

There's an issue with Pinned items.  I mentioned that the bar separating them was not there.  There's a problem when selecting STart menu Theme - either option does this.  When opening start menu there's no bar (see pic1).  When I mouse over the menu then the bar appears (see pic2).

No Bar

Also...  Can you add an option to add round corners in Windows 7 Style, please.

Something else I noticed - there's no longer any right click menu for user icon.

And...  Under Config - Start menu Theme there's 2 options, both with square edges, but under Customise Menu Visual Appearance - Visual Touches there's an option for Round Corners.  Easy to miss.  Anyway to combine this?

With RC2 Windows explorer and the taskbar continue to crash(reset) when  Start11 search is activated.  The problem completely disappear when it is turned off.  It can happen at any times, but of course it mostly happen when you do a search in the menu.

I've noticed about having the taskbar on top is that the Windows 11 "Quick Settings" flyout seems to cut off at the top as shown in the picture. Will there be fix?

I think this has to do with the taskbar size, I had mine set at medium then tried large both cut off at the top as in the picture, but when tried size small it kind of fix it and was better (top was less cut off). For me, size medium and large top would definitely cut off, small is a little better. I just hope there's going to be a fix in the future.

Start 11 0.91. Windows 11 Home (Build 22000 - release channel current on Surface Pro8). I'm using Windows Modern Style (bottom, left, medium size).

Application icons pinned to the taskbar do not respond correctly to screen touch but work correctly with mouse, touch pad and pen clicks. Specifically, pressing (via touch) the pinned icon of an app does not open it or bring it to front if the app is already open. Pinned app icons do visually react to screen touch but does not trigger the expected action. Long-touch (right-click) works as expected. Also, the task bar Start and Search icons do work as expected with touch. Issue appears to be touch with pinned apps.

May be the same issue described above in Post #102.

Stardock QA: Please advise if you can't repro and I'll make a video.

Is it possible to add a configuration option for word-wrap/centering on the icon labels, which would increase the vertical size of the grid cells to accommodate the wrapped text?

Weird new bug seen with RC2. This was not seen on previous builds.

When using Start 11 while running Synergy to share mouse and keyboard between computers, if I click on the Start button, the Start menu appears with the mouse cursor at the bottom center of the search text box. However, if I start typing, nothing happens. Even the slightest movement of the mouse and the cursor immediately moves to the lower right corner of the screen and starts selecting an area on the other computer's monitor on the right as if the left mouse button is being held down and the start menu closes.

Invoking the Start 11 menu using the Windows key works as expected.

The fly-out menu from Show Hidden Icons in the Task bar has square corners (Windows 10 style).

This happens when you use Shutdown to terminate the use of my laptop and during a Restart. The only way to have round corners (Windows 11 style) is to perform a Restart explorer in the Start11 App. This phenomenon is not present when Hibernate is used to terminate the use of my laptop.

Start11 Version 0.91

Windows 10 21H1

Sometimes when clicking elements on the taskbar the start menu pops up instead of the desired action. It seems to happen especially commonly with the overflow arrow for programs at the bottom, but can happen with either the tray icons or pinned/running apps, and I've noticed that when the bug occurs the overflow arrow stays highlighted as if I'm mousing over it even when I'm not (example below).

Here's a video of the glitch in action

This only happens when the taskbar is on the left or right side of the screen. Side note: I didn't have this taskbar setup when using previous versions of Start10/11 so I don't know if the issue is specific to this version.

Feature Request: I have my start menu split into two pages now. Is it possible that some kind of mouse control could switch between pages such as a sideways scroll on the mousewheel?

  • Windows Ver:  22483.1000 (Dev Channel)
  • Start11 Ver:  0.91
  • UX Selection:  Windows 11 Style
  • Issue:   Pinned icons do not cleanly occupy allocated Start Menu space.   In the instance below, we see it with Large icons, however I can replicate the behavior with multiple icon sizes when the default available Start Page fills up.   The behavior is that a vertical slider appears on the right when there are no icons below to scroll down to.   Uncertain if this is intention, but if icons do not overflow a pane, it seems unlikely that a scroll bar would be expected.

    Example:

If you resize the menu up slightly that should go away.  I think it is exceeding the space by a very small amount when factoring in line spacing which is why it thinks it needs to scroll.

If you have a 4th and 5th button on your mouse you can use those to go page next and page back.

We have taken this feedback into account and the update next week will use ctrl + arrows to move pages as well.

Thank you...I did not realize the start menu was dynamically sizeable until you suggested it!

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

Version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.282) - Start 11 Version 0.91

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

Open a Command Prompt in Admin Mode. After UAC requests elevated privileges Start 11 will produce the result in the screen shot the next time the start menu is opened, it will go back to normal again when the start menu is opened up a second time

Happens after any and every UAC privilege request.

Unable to PIN Vivaldi to Start 11 Start Menu. It may be because the Vivaldi application does not reside in the Windows Programs Folder. It is located in the following location. "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\Application\."

I am running Windows 11 Dev. Version Build 22483.

How are you pinning it?

I agree that the little lines are difficult to click on to change pages, especially if you are in a hurry.

While that would be nice to be able to use Ctrl-arrow to move between the pages I usually am accessing the Start menu with a mouse. I don't really care for processes where I have to switch from the mouse to the keyboard and then back to the mouse just to click an icon to launch an app.

Would like to see something better (bigger) than the little page lines that the mouse could click on.
