If possible having the ability to add apps to the taskbar would be awesome. Some apps allow it but several do not. Especially having the ability to add the recycle bin to the task menu. Actual tools monitor program allows the option to add the recycle bin to the taskbar so I know it is possible to add that feature. I have the program but do not use it anymore because I only have 2 monitors but when I had 4 monitors with Windows 10 it was a necessity. Here is the link to that program so you know what I'm referring to.

Here I am again, the guy using Start11 with touch only.

First, I'm glad that I can now scroll the app list and properly drag and drop on the Windows 10 style menu. Also scrolling in the configuration window now works properly too.

However, here are remaining issues:

-On the Windows 10 style menu, tapping on the letters  on the all apps list on the left and then tapping on a letter does not put the menu on the corresponding letter. Example, if I tap letter P it brings me to letter O. Seems to be consistently one letter before.

-The options to Show Win+X menu and replace taskbar right-click menu with Win10 style one still do not work with touch. Holding touch on taskbar still brings the default Win11 right-click menu and holding touch on Start button does nothing.

Now here's a new terribly annoying bug for RC2:

-Enabling any of the Start11 Start Menu makes it impossible to switch windows by tapping the taskbar icons or open pinned taskbar apps. The only way to switch apps is to tap on Task View icon or use three finger up gesture to bring task view.

This is noted in the Known issues.  We have this resolved internally but it didn't make this build due to the need for additional testing as it was a more complex than you might think fix.

Windows 10 Home 21H1 19043.1288:

Start11 - Missing Symbols/Graphics next to Restart, Sleep, and Shut down

Hello, the symbols/graphics for Restart, Sleep, and Shut down are missing when you click the power button on Start11 Menu (Windows 11 theme).  The image appears, with a vertical line and the words for Restart, Sleep, and Shut down.  See attached.  (or is this by design - just appears that something is missing).  I'm running this on latest Windows 10 Home (NOT Windows 11).

An interesting point.  There are no icons on those as none have been assigned and we never have had any there, but it might be a nice touch to add them.

So I just installed 0.91, and two finger mouse scrolling appears to still not be working, yet (please, please tell me that it's in another release -- I don't want to be a pain)

[As mentioned in the prior report on this, thank you, thank you for bringing back my win10 experience on win11.. or at least, as good as can be expected (I do miss live tiles, but that's technology enhancement that would leave me in total shock if you figured out how to do that.. I suspect if I buy something like Object Desktop, I could add widgets to emulate some of the tiles)]

I have Start11 0.91, and like 0.90, it won't consistently center the icons on the taskbar.   Sometimes they are centered, sometimes they are on the left, like they normally would be in Windows 10.

Just wanted to pop in and thank you all for your phenomenal work, such an amazing piece of software that improved W11 quality of life tenfold.

The only thing I'd really like to request that's missing/broke, is stacking W10-style tile groups on top of each other vertically. Currently they seem to only want to shuffle between each other horizontally unless you force the menu to be vertically cramped.

New bug with RC2, sometimes my system tray/overflow icons go completely invisible until I mouse over them, never saw that with older versions.

OK, so maybe I spoke a little too soon.

This is very close to being perfect for me, but there is still one glitch with custom Start buttons.  I'm afraid that I loathe the dull default blue 4 square window button and far prefer the older style colourful orb.  You have now fixed the fact that the taskbar got screwed up if you used a custom button, but there is still a problem with right clicking the Start button.  The settings are set to show Win + X menu when right clicking on the Start button, but this does not work if you use a custom Start button.  If tried toggling the custom Start button on and off and confirm this is definitely the case.

If you could fix this, that would be fantastic !

Thanks for making Windows 11 so much better to use.

Windows 10 Home 21H1 19043.1288:

Windows 11 Style - PC Freezes and Reloads When Clicking Start Button while on "All applications" of Start Menu

Using the Windows 11 style start menu:

When I click "All apps>" and then click the Start button on the taskbar (while still on the "All applications" screen), Start11 locks up/freezes computer for a bit (mouse icon changes to blue circle), taskbar icons disappear, and then everything reloads (similar to what happens when you restart explorer.exe)

Windows 11 Home (21H2 build 22000.258)
Start11 version 0.91 (and prior versions)

Having an issue where explorer.exe is crashing when I search for certain things through the start menu. If I type "ob" (as in searching for OBS), it will perform the search and offer a list as you'd expect but then crash a moment later. I am unable to obtain a screenshot as explorer.exe crashing purges the clipboard.

Event Viewer offers the following:

If I turn off the "Use Start11 search in the Start11 start menu" option in Start11 settings, the crash does not occur.

This is an interesting bug. If I try to add certain items from the all programs list to the left hand side shortcuts it shows up as a tile and if I hover my mouse over it all my quick access side shortcuts disappear. This happens most notably with my Thunderbolt control center. Then after opening and closing the Start menu that tile just removes itself on it's own. In the past I have never had any issues adding programs to the left hand side shortcuts. My Start menu is set up as modern style.

How are you adding it?  Via right click menu or dragging it?

Unable to pin apps to taskbar from main section of menu. This is a base feature windows 11 without start11.

Hi,

I'm using the modern style start menu on a German version of Windows 11, and here are a few issues with the start menu in RC2 (see corresponding numbers in the screenshot):

1. I have activated the option to "Show Universal applications in their own folder" in the all programs list. But there seems to be no way to translate the folder name "Modern UI applications" to German (unlike the Quick access shortcuts on the right side, which can be configured).

2. The "Lock", "Switch user", "Sign out", "Restart" and "Sleep" options in the lower right are not translated to German, also the "All Programs" and "Back" options in the lower left. Only the "Shutdown" option is in German for some reason.

3. There seems to be no option to prevent the start menu from showing newly installed programs in blue in the all programs list. It would be nice if this could be deactivated. I'm an adult and I know the things I've installed.

4. I've configured some transparency for the start menu, but the background of the scrollbar doesn't seem to care about that, as you can see in the screenshot.

Keep up the good work!
