The option to "Always show icons at startup" does not work when not checked in this version just like the last. I have to roll back to version 3.0.9.11 to get this to work.

Hmmm, This does seem to work for me.

With that unchecked, and with the icons already hidden via Fences, reboot, the desktop icons did not show.

Can you tell me what steps you are doing and how you see it failing?

After updating to Ver 3.13, Ghost Recon Breakpoint quit working correctly.

If you disable Fences before playing, does it work then?

Besides restores not working, auto-layout doesn't work either on my machine.

Immediately after installing the update I got repeated BSODs - DPC-WATCHDOG-VIOLATION.  All SSDs are working with correct firmware.  Uninstalled Fences and no BSODs since.  WIN10 ver 20H2 build 19042.1165.

What makes you believe Fences was the cause?  Have you tried since and seen more of them?

Just updated FENCES to latest version 3.1.3.3, also updated WPE to latest version 1.6.22. All works fine ;) thanks for your work.

One small bug, found it while browsing fences settings.

Here's screenshot

Bug. "Magical grabbing hand from space and time"

You can grab icons from fances that placed on other screen. In my example I have 5 screens. And  I found that you can grab them as from 5th or 3rd one, when located on 4rth. So key component to do grabbing move diagonal andfast (to not create selection area; and I have intuition that maybe those freezing-lagging effect might somehow affect that I have on this bug too). Example

Version 3.1.3.3
Win10 pro 64-bit (version21H1/build OS 19043.1165)

EDIT:
purged old version, reinstalled current v3.13. No issues so far.

Fences 3.13 still broken, no icons at all on my desktop. Rollback to 3.09...

sdRohan,  could you please tell me, where I can find users  created UI file(don't want to twerak all from scratch again)? Just wanna to test 'purging' effect and new clean reinstaling. Because previously I just updated it over old 3.12 and this over 3.10 version.

aha... I did (I even decided to do total clear reinstall) and nothing is changed (all same bugs still there).
But I have figured out one moment whith freezing when you selecting enything by left mouse cursor. It's looks like it's simply because when you turn off do fence on to left mouse.. it's still calculate and behave (and spend same ammount time on this action) like it is should do fences with left mouse cursor.
So.. probably this is another Bug

It rebooted upon installation.  I then did 2 additional reboots and finally on the 2nd reboot it seems to have fixed itself.

I'm throwing in the towel.

I uninstalled the upgrade and reinstalled Version 3.09. At least that's working.

I'm going to ignore future automatic notifications for upgrades for a while.

So never mind my post.

Why hang around waiting while everyone gets an answer and I get blown off?

I remember when Stardock was a good company...

No one is being ignored, Mike; just answering as we get them...

3. With that resolved, I went to open Fences from the Start Menu and the Fences Settings feature popped up. From there, I even ran it as administrator to make sure.

You never want to do that, it will result in Windows Explorer asking for permission for many things.

If you do a purge, reboot, and reinstall Fences 3.13, do you still have issues?

It really unclear that your issue is.  If it lasts past a purge and reinstall:

Hah, after update, portals that are loaded immediatelly are ok, however portals loaded after some action (eg. mounting drive) have bold labels under icons - like in brinith#7's post. I don't know if it is caused by the fact that it is folder portal or by the fact it is loaded later.

Because it didn't happen before I installed the update, it happened immediately afterwards, and hasn't happened again since I uninstalled fences.  Plus the normal reason for that BSOD is an SSD problem, which I have checked and do not have.

ETA: Rolled back to 3.09 with no more BSODs.

After latest version of Fences installed, my system would not finish booting due to the loop saying that that explorer had not closed properly and to re-enable fences, which keeps repeating.

Had resort to a system restore which restored to Fences 3.0.9.11

Updated to Windows 11 version 22000.132 and Fences 3.13 today. After rebooting the Fences folder portals had no text, just icons. Text only shows when hovering the mouse over an item. I tried different portal views but still no text in any of them. Rebooted and still no text. Rolled back to 3.09 and the text is back.

For me, after the update, virtually all of my icons were removed from various Fences and placed on the desktop.  The actual fences sti on top of them and the icons are hidden.  I used the BAT file to remove Fences and reinstalled 3.13 but had no luck.  Any suggestions?

I have the same problem.  Layout snapshots are solid black. I deleted old snapshots...that didn't help. Reverted to 3.09 - that didn't help. Reupdated to 3.1.3.3 and still have solid black snapshots.

How to solve??? Any ideas?

Quick follow up:  I re-purged Fences and installed 3.09 with no luck.  The problem persists.  This update has just completely screwed up my desktop.  Unless you have a solution, I'm going to have to re-populate all of my fences and I'm not happy about that.  This is the first problem I've had with a Fences update but it's a big one.
