Synthetic Morale

As the name say the Synthetic still use and have morale, in turn 1 I have 16% approval with a 0.8 Morale using Synthetics.

I'm not using mods or any DLC expansion.

Here's some images about the bug in question....

How strange. I can't reproduce.

Since you're including screen shots, could you go to the planet screen and hover your mouse over approval? You should be getting detailed information of why your morale is so low. I want to see what is affecting your morale.

Well, the important question is, are you really synthetic? Cause if you're not, it would explain a few things.

What DLC do you have installed?

If you start a new game as the same civ, do you run into the same problem?

Does modifying your civ change the outcome? You probably should first make a copy of the civ. Might come in handy later as you would have something to show the devs.

You should be able to find your civ here:
\Documents\My Games\GC3Crusade\Factions

Traits image show Synthetic option is choose so that is out of the question (checked again and Synthetic is marked), also I'm not using any mod or expansion (don't have any bought) and yes every time starting with that custom faction I get the same result and changing for example Tax to 100% the morale drops even lower.

Used other custom factions from workshop and get the same result even with the official race Yor, in turn one starts with 76% approval and if I put 100% taxes the approvals go to 8%, moral is bugged and still affect Synthetic option.

So wait. You don't even have Crusade installed? That might explain why your screen is a little different, and why you're getting different results. The devs are selling GalCiv 3 packs with Crusade and Retribution last I heard. They want that to be the minimum.

Playability hindered by greed ins't a good advertise for people buying this game... so in resume the "Synthetic" option only works if you have Crusader+Retribution expansion. Why isn't added in the base game when the option is there?

Thanks for the help Divine but going to uninstall the game at this discovery....

I just tried the Yor on base game. Even they are not getting free morale. In Crusade (and later), they should be getting 100 points of morale.

I know base game works differently than crusade and other DLC. Even the directory used to store files is different. The devs really tried hard to make the game better. They released a imperfect game (not their strong point), and kept trying to improve it until they decided that it was better to leave it and move on. I remember being able to build tiny ships with weapons with a firepower of 16 early in the game using resources, and to be able to build a lot of constructors because admin points weren't a thing back then. Back then, you would upgrade starbases using constructors, not pay money and resources and be ready next turn. Starbases could request constructors from shipyards, which created a problem if you were trying to upgrade too many starbases at once. You wouldn't be building enough warships to keep the AI from bothering you (requested constructors got pushed to the front of the queue).

I didn't mean to ruin the game for you. I was just pointing out that the devs no longer sell the base game without crusade and retribution DLC. No price mark up. Just setting the min they set for new players.

By the way, did you buy base game a long time ago? I don't think new customers can get a copy of the base game without select DLC. Or are you choosing to play without DLC?

Its an open secret that the devs are now working on GalCiv 4. I don't know the ETA. Maybe it will be better. I will be pushing during the beta to make it better.

Also, Epic games store is handing away free copies of GalCiv 3 right now. If buying is somehow a problem, you might want to check it out. It should still be going until lunch tomorrow. They do a new free game every week.
