WindowBlinds 10.81 released

Fixes issues with Windows 10 1903 release

We have released WindowBlinds 10.81 to address the following issues with the Windows 10 1903 release:

  • Some WindowBlinds stock skins did not paint the time on the taskbar correctly
  • Taskbar app icons were not shaded properly
  • Taskbar app icon hover did not show the app preview popup

While the app should soon prompt to update, you can manually get the update from the following links:

Much might depend on the skin, RND.  Some stock skins, Diamond and Precision to be exact, did have the issue and were fixed believing that any other skins would be as well.

That said, do you have black time text with those stock skins?

I want a definitive answer to this:

-Is WindowBlinds Fixed so all OLDER skins will have their "Left side Foldersbar" painted correctly and not white like the issue described in earlier posts ??

Is an uninstall necessary or can it be applied over the old one?

No Andy, like I am doing, you have to go in and set the Windows 10 Colors for explorer on older skins. The old way was to set the Windows Background color to match the explorer background color of the skin, but this ruined apps like Microsoft Office and others. Now I go in and set the Windows Background color to be white, and the 2 Windows 10 colors to match the explorer background. This is why I have so updates coming on the site.

So there was no fix for this afterall... It's just something making it possible to fix for future skins...  Bloody useless !

-I mean if The current Windowblinds version doesn't fix this automatically, basically all skins are now obsolete ??!!

-I demand an update to Windowblinds so "old" skins (which they aren't yet even) Skin properly again. :cylon:

Thanks V-styler

EDIT:

-I just installed The latest WindowBlinds Update and basically ALL my skins Now show everything Correctly... (even left folders bar)

-So John, what ? Those updates you have done don't seem necessary ? Hm... go figure :omg:

Well that's good to know Andy, when I install the 1903 update and the new WB update, I hope it fixes all the older skins I did too! :)

In Windows 10 1903 and up the taskbar popups will no longer skin so your issue will go away.

No, those 2 work correctly, so, that said, how do I deal with this?

Quoting sdRohan, reply 4

Much might depend on the skin

OK, there is a serious problem on Windows 10, 1903 using Windowblinds 10.81. If you open a toolbar up on the taskbar and the Windows 10 windows mode color is set to Light, the rebar area is totally messed up, and if you set the toolbar to use large icons it is even worse. It does this with all Windowblinds skins and more than one use is experiencing this issue. Here is a screenshot:

I can also confirm the issue discussed in Replies 17-19 of this thread, it is even worse than it was on Windows 10, 1809.

Both issues definitely need fixed ASAP.

I saw this too. My wish is that when Windowblinds active, it will lock windows 10 theme to Dark only. And disable Light theme.

Just my wish.

Or just apply the dark theme. It doesn't go back to the light theme unless you change it.

Yes, but if you have a really light taskbar, the light theme makes the Windows 10 tray icons black so that can be seen easier. If you apply the dark theme, it makes the tray icons white, and on a light taskbar that is not good. Stardock just needs to fix WB 10.81.

Or make it that it can be define by the skin designer to use the dark theme or light theme on the skin level specified in skinstudio and lock it from the users. or a warning that will pop up if the user change the theme to something not compatible with that WB theme.
