How to disable update notifications in Fences 3?

Hi,

How do I disable the pop-up update notifications in Fences 3? Someone in this post says to download a .bat file and run it, but I'm hesitant to run a file linked by someone that doesn't work at Stardock.

I tried creating a ticket but can't log into eSupport and don't see a way to create an account for it.

if you don't want to run batch files of suspicious nature, you can just press Win+R and paste into appeared dialog this command - 

reg add HKCU\Software\Stardock\Settings /v SupressAutoUpdate /t REG_DWORD /d "0"

it will make a registry key which will prevent Fences 3 from checking for available updates.

No doubt you got that from the batch file so you know what is in it and can see there is nothing 'suspicious' in it.

Actually it was very useful because when I ran the batch file, bitdefender freaked out and caused some problems.  Stardock should have thought it through and should have added an option to turn off the notification in settings to start with.
