Lifetime Founder Access activated

Hi guys!

After a lot of complaining and crying (mostly the latter) I think I've been able to get universal Lifetime founder access going.

Now, to access the actual build, you'll need to go to your GalCiv III properties and type in ToriansArceansMercs into the betas tab.

Hat's off to you Brad, thanks.

Although I don't feel like I was doing too much crying, I'll try to cry moreso in the future.  Glad I can play around with it a bit before being mostly gone for a month or so.

thanks again..

Edit: 1.8GB it's too big, make it smaller!! :'(  :'(  :'(

Awesome!

I think most of us Founders would've liked to have seen this handled differently, but the level of vitriol from a few individuals was completely uncalled for.

I'd post more, but I'm gonna go play it! :)

I haven't checked the forums since the middle of last week, did it get terrible?

At least our "crying" accomplished something.

Just downloaded it and about to give it a try.

Brad and StarDock, many thanks.

tid242 -- I know your pain. I used to have a very slow internet connection and I know this one would have taken 30-40 minutes to download (at no more than 6 Mbps). I got ticked at Centurylink about it and switched to a cable connection (which I am still not happy with over their IMAP server) and their "at least 60 Mbps" speed got it down in about 3 minutes. Some phone companies just refuse to give those of us in the boonies anywhere near the speed they claim in their TV ads.

hah, nah, I was just making up something to cry about.  I have a 100megabit connection, so I grab downloads at about 12 megs/sec.  Minneapolis (where I live) has 1gb connections for like $70, but they haven't gotten my neighborhood yet so until then it's "only" 100mb with comcast.  We have centurylink here too - but as you've pointed out, they suck.  They actually wired my neighborhood with fiber, but it's a lot more expensive than the competing fiber, and they're jerks.

I did have a phone modem back in the day and you're right, that definitely sucked, until I went to college and had a T1 (which was fast then, not so much now..).

Appreciate the compassion tho, +1

Ignore.

Just when I get my head right to wait, LOL.

You have to select the special dl as well as put in the pw

Many thanks, Brad and team!

Brad,

I appreciate the update on this. You didn't have to and I appreciate it anyway.

P.S. Was making race and setting traits. The tooltip for handy for the blue circle says it's -30% while the green circle says it's +20%. This is obviously wrong.

Well guys...this is almost completely new game! And its beautiful!

Downloading now froggy.

My initial reaction: Outstanding! Superb! Well Done! In my first game I am getting trounced by the AI and it is more fun than winning the other versions.

Thanks for the early release and sorry for the grumbling :)

Thanks Brad...

I got to ask. Have you ever fixed a quiet wheel?

I find that the squeaky wheel gets addressed.

Now I got to go play my game and wipe away the tears of joy.

Thanks Brad/Stardock.  Aw yeah!

I'm usually a quit wheel kind of. You wouldn't believe how much credit I take for Galactic civilizations 3. Self exalted, not anything to take seriously.

Wow, two days before launch. So you could have done this earlier, but didn't want to ?

Awesome, I'll try this out when I get home tonight then.

For those of us who have taken a break from the forums.. what is the lifetime founder? What build do we get by entering the code (final build, a beta)? Will the release build download and overwrite this build automatically in two days? Will the release build break saves from this build?

Just wondering if I should wait, or start playing now. :D

You're a Founder, you've got the badge. You're good to go!

There is a difference between a Founder and an Elite Founder. Both joined in on the EA, but the Elite Founder paid $100 go get all DLCs and expansions.

what is the lifetime founder?

I have seen the term "Lifetime Founder" only once or twice, but have no idea what it means. I suspect it is a reference to an "Elite Founder".
