New to GC3, can't find these gameplay features in the manual?

Downloaded and played last week, version 2.0.  Generally the game is beautiful and I enjoy it, it's very much a 4x space game which I enjoy, plus some new concepts.  Starbases are really cool, for instance, as are the 'idle ship' warnings on the turn button.  I have read the documentation PDF and played the tutorial, which didn't seem to explain the following.  Still, I am puzzled by a few things, though:

  1. Is there no technology 'queue'? to either:
    1. research sequentially so you can 'plan ahead' your next 3 technolgies
    2. split research between two technologies at once, in parallel
  2. when two fleets are in the same hex, how do I transfer ships between?  (I realize there is a logistics limit, that isn't the problem)
  3. is there no way to visually see which ships are damaged other than in the combat preview screen (where damaged ships are shaded red)
  4. are there no 'waypoints' when planning ship movement?  I tried hotkeys: shift, alt, ctrl, none worked?

Thanks!

1a) No (at least not that I know of)

1b) No, other than switching manualy between researched techs every turn

2) There is a "Manage" button at the top of the fleet control box (or whatever the official name of that is ;)) in the lower left corner whenever two or more fleets are in the same hex.

3) You see damage of ships in the fleet control box only by hovering over the ship with the mouse (very annoying, something like a life bar would be much better).

4) No.

1a) you can by selecting a tech behind others,

It will then research all techs up to the one u selected.

It will always pick the first tech when it comes to specialisations and u cant select  a tech in an later age.

If I select a ship in the fleet view in the lower left corner, there isn't shown a life bar ... ?

Life bars are shown on the ships in the selected fleet, again as red. (The red shaded area is the damage)

Welcome!

2. There should be a manage button. It will show itself when you select a tile that have 2 or more ships/fleets. From there you can disband a fleet to free up ships and select multiple ships to create a fleet. You will need to hold shift to select multiple ships and fleets.

3. You can hover the cursor over a ship. You should get information on its stats and health.

4. There are no way points. It would be nice if they were included.

You can make rally points, but they only provide a location for ships to go to.

Can it be you speak of the Battle Viewer?

I dont understand how a life bar is better than seeing actual damage hit points.

With a life bar for the ships in the fleet window in the lower left corner you could see at a glance which ships are damaged and which are not without having to hover over every ship of a 14 ship fleet or so. The AI tends to shoot always at the most damaged ship first, so often after a fight I take a badly damaged ship out of the fleet to save it, especially if it has leveled up a lot. But first I have to identify the most damaged ship, and right now that works only by hovering over every single ship ...
