Bongiovi DPS Audio Plug-in

I raved about this software utility about a year ago on how it can dramatically improve the sound experience on any Windows PC. I run a decent set of Creative speakers connected to my Qosmio laptop in my office and the sound quality improvement after installing Bongiovi DPS is like night and day. If you are looking for improvement in the sound quality of your music or movies you will be blown away by this little plug-in.........and its being offered for free until the end of the year.

Thanks, definitely caught my interest.

I've been poking around on the website trying to see if runs right on Win10 1607 and I'm not sure, a post or two on their forums sounds like it might be a little iffy.  Have you got it loaded on any Win10 1607 machines?

Wow! Thanks Leo, 1000% better audio here!

I tried this it wouldn't load the driver. The error told me to close all the media players that are running in the background. I did that there must be something that I'm not seeing.

You have to close anything that uses audio at all AlMonty, anything like Skype too.

I installed it. I have a Logitech set with 2 speakers and a subwoofer. The sub has no adjustment on it. This plugin makes the bass too much, even turned all the way down.

The software was updated recently to work with Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Did you try loading one of the profiles?.....Mendoza does have a lot of bass but you can adjust it by dragging the little knob down on the Home page. Try one of the other profiles there is plenty to chose from.

My sound is now overloading my speakers.  I guess they're too wimpy to handle this.

I found the settings and changed the profile.  Now it's much better.

Yeah, New Orleans works well if I turn the bass way down.

Ever since they pushed version 2.0.11 of DPS, at reboot, I get an error saying the DPS driver is missing.  I have to uninxtall, reboot and then install again.  Unfortunately, at the next reboot the drive is again missining.  They have a support page but no way of leaving feedback or contacting them.

Anyone else seeing this?

Sounds very stupid.... an Audio enhancement software that you can only use if you turn everything else off !??? o_O

I saw that on the page that pops up when the missing DPS driver error appears.  I don't have any other audio programs running and never have.  Just in case, I whitelisted the program isnide Norton Security in case it's deletin g it at boot time.

Are you also getting the error?

Working fine here gevansmd, running 2.0.1.11, and it provides superior audio Andy, believe me, it's absolutely great. You only have to close anything that uses audio during the install, then reboot and set your settings in Bongiovi. After that it's merely enjoying superior sound!

I never responded back, but yes I turned every thing off that used audio in the task manager and in my system tray. Then I installed it and rebooted. My desktop I had to do some adjustments for a better sound. My laptop has a better deeper sound. I'm happy with it.

Whitelisting didn't solve the problem.  On reboot DPS driver not found, error 1001.  I forgot to mention that at shutdown the DPS program crashses accessing a memory location.  Next time I see it I'll write it down.

No only on the install. It installs it's own driver. I don't know why you have to shut every thing down, but if you forgot something it won't install. After a reboot everything goes back to normal.

This is the exact context of the message when updating from previous version:

It is very important to be sure no other programs that use audio are running! Check your System Tray to be sure no chat, media players or Internet browsers that have recently been used to view video or audio are running before you continue.

Following those instructions produced a flawless update for me.

My PC is now tired of trying.  Even the uninstall, reboot and reinstall steps fail with the missing driver error.  Going to revery to 2.0.09 for now.

Just updated to version 2.1.0.6..........super rich sound as always :congrat:

Although I was finally ablke to install it again I get no sound of the speakers when the digital power sepakers are selected as default device.  I have to set it to just speakers, bypassing Bogiovi.

I jumped all over it when I first read this thread. Dl'd it and the install went flawlessly. I didn't have to turn off anything. Maybe its just me lol. Been enjoying it ever since and the quality of the sound is amazing. I use a set of generic laptop speakers. I could blow the windows out if I wanted to. Rarely do I ever crank it up. Thank you again Leo.
