True Fullscreen mode

Hello,

Just wanted to point out that the current Fullscreen mode is in fact a borderless window. I would apreciate if there can be a True fullscreen mode.

1 of the reasons is that Multi-GPU tend to prefer that (mostly AMD as they cant do crossfire in windowed mode if this didn't changed recently).

I feel like maybe you want to be explained why what you just asked for is the opposite of what you want.

I'm just gonna ask first though, so I know if I'm wasting my time or not.

There's no need to be a douche - it was an innocent question that could've had a great answer.

Please enlighten us - I actually don't know about fullscreen vs windowed fullscreen in the context of SLI/Crossfire, so I'm interested.

Fullscreen is emulated because of some focus issues we're having in D3D12, basically if you lose focus on the window we don't get the same messages from windows to restore and this hasn't been documented sufficiently for D3D12.

Regarding Multi-GPU restrictions that it be in fullscreen, D3D12 does not have this restriction. It's going to work just fine in windowed mode.

Excellent, thanks for the answer. I'm a nVidia user anyway so SLI always worked in windowed mode for me. It was more a consideration for AMD.

Just an observation for DX11. The game is starting in True Fullscreen mode; but if you alt-tab and then go back to the game, it will remain borderless windowed unless you restart the game or hit ALT-ENTER.

Note: @tatsujb . I should have asked for an option. If I retake what you say, all modern games have the option for either fullscreen or borderless.
