redviper37,
Can you enumerate what exactly you do on your PC? Be as specific as possible, the more that I know the better keyboard and mouse I can suggest. This is an area that I actually know quite a bit about
Does it HAVE to ergonomic?
How serious of a gamer are you and what games do you tend to play?
Do you have a claw or palm grip?
Heavy mouse, light mouse, or you don't know?
Is customization of software for the peripherals important?
Are lights important?
Mechanical or membrane?
Would you say you tend to abuse your peripherals?
Thanks!
I have two computers for which I need a new keyboard and mouse.
One is mostly for work, the other is mostly for gaming and posting on forums.
It has to be ergonomic because i spend a lot of hours in front of my computer, either for work or for pleasure.
I tend to play strategy games (Galciv3, Europa Universalis IV, Total War series, Civilization) and RPG (Skyrim, Dragon Age Inquistion, Mass Effect 3 and the upcoming 4 next year) and some RTS (I'll play Star Craft II: Legacy of the void when it comes out, but I only play the solo campaigns of RTS, I don't have the patience for MP); I do play the occasional shooter, when I find a decent one around 10-15$, and again, I usually don't play MP. If there are still founders spots left this winter, I may test Ashes of Singularity. I'm not as much a gamer as I used to be, but I still play, especially during winter since it's the low season for work. I really play one or 2 games at a time, no more.
Never heard of palm vs claw grip, but looking it up, it seems I am more confortable with claw grip.
Heavy mouse, preferably.
Customization is nice to have, but not important.
Lights aren't important.
I prefer membrane.
I would definately say I tend to abuse my peripherals. It seems I click too much for most mouse, they tend to break right there.
I don't mind paying a little over 100$CAN for a kb&mouse combo, but I'm not shelling over 500$ to get the same keyboard set I currently have (price on Amazon retailers): http://tinyurl.com/nvsnhno
I realize the CAN$ has dropped in value since my last purchase, but I paid around 90$ for each kit, and I'd like something similarly priced, say 100-150$CAN.
